POSITION: Sales and Marketing Faith-Based Sales Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing/SERRV
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to increase the number of new prospects and new customers in SERRV’s national church-based consignment and wholesale channels in order to raise sales in those departments within 2012. Due to the nature of this position, the applicant must be comfortable interacting with people of the Christian and other faiths and with church organizations. Requires a commitment to fair trade as a strategy to reduce poverty and empower low income and marginalized people.
CATEGORY: Part-Time
PAY STATUS: Hourly, $12-15/hour depending on experience. No benefits.
HOURS: Twenty to Twenty Five (20-25) hours a week with some weekend or evening promotional events and speaking engagements. Exact schedule can be negotiated but typically would fall between the hours of 8:30-5, Monday - Friday.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Sales and Marketing Director.
ACCESS TO COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION:
Coordinator has access to customer account information and sales data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· In consultation with the marketing department, develop a comprehensive strategy and timeline for reaching new churches to introduce SERRV programs.
· Contact church prospects across the country through phone, email, in-person visits, and mailings per agreed-upon monthly goals. This includes both initial contact and follow-up.
· Be familiar with the sales programs in order to answer customer questions and know the processes involved for both the customers and SERRV.
· Learn to understand the customer in order to advocate for their needs and make recommendations for both short-term and long-term program revisions.
· Represent SERRV at two one-week denominational summer conferences with the goal of recruiting new prospects for holiday SERRV Sales.
· Work with other members of the department to acquire new customers for our Catholic Relief Services and Lutheran World Relief consignment programs.
· Other duties as assigned by Sales and Marketing Director and/or President/CEO.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: These along with other performance data will be used to measure and evaluate the performance of the Faith-Based Sales Coordinator:
· Keep the 2012 strategy and timeline on track.
· Represent SERRV to customers and prospects with clarity and enthusiasm.
· Meet specific monthly contact goals.
· Meet seasonal and annual goals for securing new faith-based customers.
· Positive feedback from current and prospective faith-based customers.
· Interact with customers and the general public in a positive and professional manner.
· Production of any written materials in a timely fashion that require minimal editing.
· Clear, positive and consistent communication with marketing team and other staff.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
· College degree or Associate degree
· Previous experience and involvement with a faith-based community will be a plus.
Work Experience
· Basic computer skills with Microsoft and database software
· Production of marketing materials or sales promotional events.
· Prior work in sales, marketing, volunteer recruitment or public relations.

· Good written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work and focus with minimal supervision
· Good planning and organizational skills. Ability to work to timelines and deadlines.
Hours and Travel
· Requires occasional domestic travel, including summer conferences
· Requires flexibility in work schedule
· Requires a valid driver’s license, adequate liability insurance and regular access to a vehicle, which can be used, occasionally for work. (Use of a personal vehicle for work will be reimbursed.)
