EHS Morning Announcements: 12/14/15

Big E Sub:

It’s Back - the big E sub is Tuesday for lunch. After you get your milk and/or fruits and vegetables, go thru the register and you will be given a ticket. Take the ticket to the table with the sub on it and you will be given a sub and a bag of chips. An assortment of condiments will be available on tables in front of the Rathskeller. Staff can purchase for $2.50.

Attention all Football Players:

Weightlifting will begin on Monday Jan. 4th. at 2:50 in the Weight Room. Players may change in Mr. Fell's locker room.

Gymnastics:

Congrats to Amber Panik and Hannah Toton as they kicked off the high school gymnastics season on Saturday at LEGS Gymnastics. The girls competed against gymnasts from Mentor, Riverside, Solon, and Strongsville. Way to go ladies!! Their next competition will be on Tuesday, December 22nd at Ten Point O Gymnastics in North Ridgeville. Good luck ladies!!

Swim Team:

The Elyria High School Swim Teams took on Euclid this past Saturday with the Girls defeating the Panthers 85-66, and the Boys losing 104-49.Winning Events for the girls were Hannah Orsik 100 Breaststroke, Janelle Chizmar 200IM, Sam Trampush 100 Fly, the 200 Medley Relay Team and 400 Freestyle Relay Team.On the boys side Runner up finishes were posted by Jacob Ward 200IM and 100 Butterfly, Brock Zifcak 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.

The Herald:

The Herald club will be having its Christmas party tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 15 after school in the main dining hall. Please bring something to share and yourself! See you then!

Ukelele Club members, listen up!

We will have practice today. We have another gig at Finwood Estate tomorrow night (Tuesday, 12-15). We need all available members to have a permission slip completed for it. Please be at Finwood Estate by 6:15pm at the latest so we tune and get ready. The gig is scheduled to start at 6:30pm on Tuesday.Thank you and see you there!

EHS Science Club:

Attention anyone who enjoys science and is looking for a new club to join! The first meeting for the EHS Science Club is Tuesday January 12th. Please come to this short informational meeting in room 235 at 2:45pm. We have many relaxed, fun , interesting activities planned for the rest of the school year! Can't wait to see you there!"

Attention all students interested in technology and technology software:

Lorain County Urban League will be offering a field trip to Hyland Software located in Westlake, Ohio. The field trip will take place on Monday, December 21. Please see Mrs. Jodie Johnson in the team 2/4 office for a permission slip and further information.

Seniors:

There will be an informational meeting tomorrow for seniors/families interested in participating in the senior project. The meeting will start at 2:45 in the media center. Come learn what the senior project is all about and if this might be something for you!

ATTN. SOPHOMORES!

All sophomores who wish to go on the JVS Sophomore Career Day field trip on Wednesday, January 27th, please turn in your pink full page permission slips ASAP to the main office only.

Attention students and staff:

Students Spreading Awareness for Animals is collecting for local shelters. Please bring items to room 105 before or after school. You can bring pretty much anything for any type of pet such as - canned food, dry food, blankets, treats, toys, and collars. Items will be taken to The Elyria Animal Hospital this Thursday, December 17. You may also drop items off there.

Attention all Art Club people.

We have a quick mandatory meeting today after school. If you can NOT attend you MUST notify Alisha James or Lydia Aley. This meeting decides the fate of Art club. The EARTH without ART is just 'eh'

Candy Cane Candy Gram:

Send a friend, a teacher, or that special someone a CANDY CANE CANDY GRAM to be delivered in homeroom tomorrow. You choose which type of candy cane you would like to send and you can even write your own message! Candy grams are only $1 each, so send a few! See Ms. Oliver in room 207 for an order form, or you can buy them in your lunch period all week!

Lost and Found:

Are you missing a sweat shirt, tee shirt, pants, shoes, ect... LOST AND FOUND wants you to claim your items in room 139.Items that are not claimed tomorrow by 3:00 will be donated to Goodwill!

Financial Aid Night 2015:

Ms. Val and College Now will be hosting Financial Aid Night tonight at 6:00pm in the Elyria High Dining Hall. Please join us for information about helping your child pay for college, filling out the FAFSA, and more! For more information, contact Mrs. Kirsch located in the team one office.
