Moon Dance Frequently Asked Questions
What is Coyote Moon Dance?
- PTA’s annual fundraiser held on Friday, Nov. 10th, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
- It’s a fun and family-friendly event held inside the school.
- We are raising money for PTA operating costs to support PTA programs such as Family Fun Nights, staff grants, science fair, field trips, teacher appreciation, class parties and parent education.
What are the rules?
- Kids must be accompanied at the dance by a parent.
- Kids cannot be dropped off at the school without an adult attending the event along with them.
- For the safety of all of our dancers in the gym, consume snacks and drinks in the cafeteria only.
How much does it cost?
- $5 per person.
- Adults and students attending must have a ticket.
- Children ages 4 and under may attend for free.
- The admission price covers the DJ and dancing, as well as the following:
o FREE Face Painting FREE Water, Sodas, Lemonade
o FREE Cookies FREE Popcorn
What else happens at Moon Dance?
- There is a SILENT AUCTION where adults can bid on theme baskets, gift cards, sports tickets, and prizes such as “Story Time with Mrs. Smith”, “Pizza Party with Teachers”.
- Kids like to wear GLOWING items to the dance such as glow in the dark necklaces or light-up hats. The gym is kept dark enough for the kids to “glow” while they dance.
- There will be 3 CONTESTS in which kids may participate: Moon Walk, Coyote Howling, and a Glow in the Dark contest. Prizes provided to top winners.
When can we buy tickets?
- Ticket order forms were sent home with students on Friday, Nov. 3.
- You can send in money between November 6th- 9th. Those who pre-purchase tickets will receive a free glow in the dark necklace when they arrive at the dance.
- Pre-purchased tickets are sent home with your student on Friday, Nov 10th.
- Tickets may also be purchased at the door, but they do not qualify for a free glow necklace.
What else?
- Volunteers are essential to hosting the Moon Dance. If you would like to volunteer to help out in any capacity, please email Kelly Oxedine at .
- Shifts for volunteers are available before, during and after the event.
- It does get loud in the gym with the DJ, but it is a lot of fun!
- All activities other than the dancing are held in the cafeteria.
