PRINCIPALS AS THE TEACHER ACCREDITATION AUTHORITY FOR PROFICIENT ACCREDITATION

Principals as Proficient Teacher Accreditation Authority (TAA)

Aprofessional learning opportunity has been designed to support newly appointed and relieving principals in their role as Teacher Accreditation Authority (TAA) for teachers seeking and maintaining accreditation at Proficient teacher level. The course can be accessed on-line through MyPL or delivered in a workshop by Teacher Quality Advisors.

The course aims to develop an understanding of the procedures for Proficient Teacher (PT) accreditation in relation to the decisions made by principals as TAA.

The presentation is also useful for existing principals and school leadership teams to revisit key aspects of the accreditation process and develop systems to support accreditation in their school.

To access this professional learning Principals should:

- advise Directors, PSNSW of their intention to participate in this professional learning

- (CTR click) to enrol in the MyPL@edu session at and access the recorded Adobe Connect session.

- engage with the Adobe Connect recorded session, download documents contained in the FILES pod and complete the three workshop activity sheets as described throughout the presentation.

- email the completed worksheets to to ensure 'completed' status is recorded against your participation in the session.Please contact a Teacher Quality Advisor to arrange a face to face workshop orfor more information.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Strong Start, Great Teacher resource to provide quality school-based induction for beginning teachers.
