INVITATIONS AND MEMORIAL RESOLUTIONS
To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (S.1354) to request that the Department of Transportation name Fourth Street in the Town of Summerton “B. O. Butler Street” and erect appropriate markers, etc., respectfully
REPORT:
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME FOURTH STREET IN THE TOWN OF SUMMERTON “B. O. BUTLER STREET” AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS STREET THAT CONTAIN THIS DESIGNATION.
Whereas, Mr. Broadus O. Butler has served as a well respected champion of education in the Town of Summerton; and
Whereas, since his arrival in Summerton in his early twenties, he has served as a principal, school superintendent, and school board member; and
Whereas, his lifelong commitment to Summerton has made an indelible mark on this community; and
Whereas, it would be fitting and proper to recognize the many achievements of Mr. Broadus O. Butler by naming a street in Summerton in his honor. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation name Fourth Street in the Town of Summerton “B. O. Butler Street” and erect appropriate markers or signs along this street that contain this designation.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
