- Engineers Week Follow-up
- Banquet: Leis could have shown up earlier prior to registration start.
- Ran out of food. Some ran out during first servings and not enough for seconds.
- HCES voted to hold the event atKo’olau Ballroom again for next year (2016).

- Valentine’s Day Rose Sale Fundraiser
- $1300 net on valentine rose day sale.
- Most of the profit will go towards covering professional network brunch.
- Student conference participation is being planned.
- Chevron Hawaii Refinery tour scheduled for Friday, April 3.2015.
- UHM DME Report
- MEcontinues as the largest department in the college.
- 368 enrolled in ME program in 2015.
- UH has a hiring freeze in place which does not help with addressing adequate number of classes or faculty.
- To accommodate ME labs, the UH DME has tripled the number of TAs in the department teachthe labs.
- UHM DME Report – Continued
- ABET review meeting is scheduled forSaturday, May 9, 2015.
- ABET study report is due this summer.
- 2011 enrollment was 240. No added staff since then with new increased enrollment being 368 (Increase of 128 students).
- If UH DME allowed to hire, they will most probably search for a Mechanics Professor, Thermal Dynamics Professor, then a FluidsProfessor.
- UH DME hired Louis Moores as the new mechanical Technician. He started work on March 1, 2015.
Unfinished Business:
- Math Counts – Follow-up Report
- None. Washington Intermediate top again.
- Ballot & Survey – Discussion of candidates and leads on filling vacant positions.
- All candidates appear to be okay for nominated positions. No write-in candidates.
- Tour suggestions have been for F-22s and Pearl Harbor Sub-base. The F22 tour appears to have everyone’s attention.
- Montgomery Fund
- Allocation of base fund amount to report to ASME.
- $50,000 as the base fund to ASME National. Motion made by Derek Sato, Second by Ron Flegal. This value has been reported to ASME National to get secured as of 4/2/15.
New Business or Issues:
- Section Shirts
- Passed out shirts to all that purchased (except Raymond Liu).
- Will check with Kenjo is we can purchase one or two as other new participating members may be interested.
- FMRDC in May, prize values, teams, volunteer judges.
- Date/Time: Friday, May 8, 2015. 1200 – 1800 hrs.
- Location: HIG 110, potentially Kuykendall Hall.
- Ed Chang to round-up volunteers for judging.
- UH DME is trying to connect ME213, etc to the ME 481/482 classes. Progressive structured classes working toward the design project where student will implement the knowledge learned into the project. (VIP program. Vertically Integrated Projects. Visit web-site:
