- Venue and date of the Meeting
The Second Meeting of National Authorities on Trafficking in Persons will be held from March 25 to 27, 2009, in the “Gran Salón Panamericano” of Hotel Panamericano, which is located at Carlos Pellegrini 551, C1009ABK, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The schedule of the working sessions of the Meeting of National Authorities will be distributed in due course. The inaugural session is scheduled for March 25, at 9:00 a.m.

To facilitate hotel reservations, the National Coordination Office has blocked a number of rooms at a special discounted rate in the hotels listed below. The hotel hosting the meeting is Hotel Panamericano.
The choice of hotel will be subject to each establishment’s availability when a reservation is made.
The hotel bill must be paid directly by each participant at the end of the meeting.

The special rates will apply until March 1, 2009. In order to qualify for them, reservation requests should be sent on the form provided in Appendix I to . Any queries relating to accommodation may be sent to that e-mail address.
Argentina applies a “no-show” policy whereby, once a reservation has been made, payment for a portion of the scheduled stay is obligatory. For further information regarding that policy, please consult the e-mail address provided when making your reservation.
- Flights
Flight reservations should be made directly with the airlines or travel agencies. Delegates are advised to reserve their roundtrip flights as far in advance as possible, given that Buenos Aires attracts a large number of tourists.
- Requirements for entering and leaving the country
Participants who need a visa should request one, depending on each case, from the Argentine embassies or consulates in their country or place of residence. Attached is information regarding visas needed to enter Argentina (Appendix II).
The UniformInternationalAirport tax is currently US$18.00. It may be paid in dollars or in Argentine pesos at the rate of exchange of the day of departure.
6.Transportation from the Airport to the Hotel
The National Organization Office will not provide transportation services. Participants should therefore choose their own form of transportation. They are advised to use only the EzeizaInternationalAirport taxi services, whose offices are located opposite the exit from Customs, inside the airport building.
The trip from the international airport to Buenos Aires downtown takes about 40 minutes and should cost approximately US$30. (100 Argentine pesos).

7.Registration and accreditation of participants
a.The registration of participants will be conducted electronically at the following address: copying . (Appendix III). Late registration and the handing out of I.D. cards will take place in the Foyer of the “Gran Salón Panamericano” from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25. For security reasons, all participants will be required to wear their I.D.s during all meetings.
b.Delegations and observers are requested to send their credentials and any other correspondence relating to the meeting to the OAS General Secretariat at the following address by no later than March 18:

8.Working languages and documents
The working sessions at the meeting will be held in the official languages of the Organization: Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese. There will also be simultaneous translation into these languages at the Plenary Meeting.
Only Spanish and English interpretation services will be available for meetings of the working groups.
9.Communications
Participants will be responsible for paying their national and international telephone and fax bills.
10.Currency
The currency in Argentina is the peso for which the exchange rate is approximately
US$1 = $3.40 (Mexican pesos). International credit cards are accepted in most commercial establishments.
11.Weather
Buenos Aires is located on the West bank of the River Plate, at 20 meters above sea level. The weather in the city is mild and humid. The temperature is around 17.6 ºC/ 63.68 degrees Fahrenheit.
12.Local time
UTC/GMT -3 hours.

Power supply is 220 volts, 50 Hz.
14.Security
The Government of Argentina will provide the necessary security for all activities related to this meeting.
15.Medical assistance
