Absorbable Oil Coating Coating which minimises tissue attachment and foreign body reaction and inflammation
Absorbable Capable of being absorbed
Abutment Connection between the sound processor and implant (fixture)
Adaptive Stimulation Senses patient body position and adjusts stimulation accordingly
Adhesion Prevention Product minimises the likelihood of adhesions
Anatomically Conforming Conforms to body shape
Angled/Offset The Angled/offset abutment is used to compensate for the angle of the implant when inserted into the jaw
Antibiotic Contains or is covered with an antibiotic to prevent infection
Antimicrobial Substance that kills or inhibits the growth of micro-organisms
Antisyphon function Prevents unwanted drainage or transfer of a liquid
Articulating/Roticulating Having joints or jointed segments and able to rotate the head of the device around the central axis
Assembly A product made up of multiple components
Biological Made from tissue harvested from animals or human cadavers
Biomodelled Patient specific prosthesis usually manufactured using 3 dimensional scans and manufacturing technology
