Our Summer musical, Mary Poppins Jr, is fast approaching! We know this is a huge production in terms of set, cast and costumes! I know we’ve had many costumes queries already and we desperately need your help and support. We’re hoping that the majority of costumes can be bought/made/supplied by home.

Every child must have footwear – the stage is not suitable for bare feet. We may use Snazaroo face paint/glitter spray on some children –Please sign and return the slip below to give permission.

Y5/6 chorus:
Victorian outfit for ‘Step in Time / All Y5/6 children who are in ‘Step in Time’ song will need to provide their own ‘chimney sweep ‘prop’ (and costume) chimney sweeps would’ve been men/boys…!
You could use an old ‘sweeping brush’ with netting/ bristles… or buy one from Amazon:

Costumes should be dark and ‘dirty’ (without the red neckerchief) trousers / shorts / hats / pumps - Victorian style
Mary Poppins / Long blue dress and hat as seen on the film with coat if possible
White outfit for ‘Jolly Holiday’ + white ballet shoes - sorted
Bert / Victorian ‘sweep’ outfit with red neckerchief
Smart blazer + white trouser for jolly holiday - sorted
Mrs Banks / Long Victorian style dress plus hat. Plus apron/pinafore.
Mr Banks / Smart blazer and trousers – formal shirt + bowler hat?
Jane / Victorian ‘day’ dress with white tights/socks + shoes – sorted from home.
Brighter day dress for ‘Jolly Holiday’
Michael / Smart Victorian ‘boy’ outfit – short and socks/pumps plus shirt.
Brighter shirt for ‘jolly holiday’
Nannies / maids
(Mrs Brill, Katie Nanna + Miss Andrew, Miss Smythe) / Old fashioned, formal darkish Victorian ‘maid’ outfit including apron.
Hair up in twists?

Neleus (statue) / Light grey outfit – Morph suit?
Bird Woman / Dark, ‘drab’ Victorian long skirt and blouse, plus shawl – sch may have a shawl

Von Hussler, John Northbrook, Chairman, / Smart formal suit with blazer, waistcoat, tie etc.
Mrs Corry / Bright coloured skirt and blouse – mismatched and outrageous!
Policeman / Old fashioned navy blue policeman’s hat including helmet
Y3 and Y4
You need 2 costumes. Both costumes must be names and need their own carrier bag and hanger. / A Victorian child’s costume including pumps/black school shoes
Boys in shorts and shirts/waistcoats. (smartish!)
Girls in dresses and pinafores / aprons. Girls with hair in 2 plaits / bunches
A bright accessory to go with Victorian costume for ‘Supercali’
Eg. scarf, neckerchief, hat, ribbons, apron, waistcoat
