Participating in a summer program is a great way to spend your summer. You will experience the excitement of college life at a college campus, you get to explore new programs and careers, and make friendships that last a lifetime with people from around the globe.

SAMS: The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science at Carnegie Mellon University / June 25th- August 6th / The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science is a rigorous residential summer experience. Students who are entering their junior or senior year and are considering careers in engineering, science and other math-based disciplines are eligible to apply. A limited number of rising high school seniors may be selected to participate in Advanced Placement/Early Admission, fine arts programs in architecture, art & design, drama or music, or the National High School Game Academy which also run from June 30 - August 10, 2012. / April 1st, 2012 / FREE! There will be no tuition, housing or dining fees for students selected to attend SAMS. Students will, however, be responsible for books, supplies, transportation and recreational expenses. Textbook costs vary from year to year. An estimate would be $150-$200.
2011 UF Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability Summer Program / June 28th -July 29th / This program is for motivated, college-bound high school sophomores and juniors who are interested in Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Sustainability. Applicants should be successfully pursuing a rigorous high school curriculum as demonstrated by their transcripts.

This fee covers tuition, books, housing in a student residence hall, an unlimited meal pass, field trips, community service, and most activities for the duration of the 5 week program. A $500 deposit is due two weeks following the notification of acceptance.
Full and partial scholarships are available to a limited number of students who demonstrate financial need and whose academic performance has been outstanding.
Boston University High School Honors Program / July 1st- August 11th / We consider academically motivated applicants who are entering their junior or senior year of high school in 2012. Qualified juniors need to be in Honors and/or AP courses to be considered. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades, courses taken, standardized test scores, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation

Applicants applying for financial aid need to submit their completed applications by April 20, 2012. / Tuition $4,520.plus room and board. Financial aid is available for the High School Honors Program. Awards cover partial tuition and fees and are based on both financial need and merit.
Boston University Research Internship / July1st-August 11th / We consider applicants who are entering their senior year of high school in 2012. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades, courses taken, standardized test scores, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.

July 22 - August 3 2012 / For high school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in fall 2012, Summer Challenge is a perfect opportunity to explore existing interests, investigate new topics, take classes not offered in high school, and maybe even determine a college major. The two-week residential program offers a preview of college life, while non-credit coursework allows students to concentrate on a high level of learning and achievement alongside their peers, without focusing on grades.

July 3rd- August 27, 2012 / For students entering their freshmen or sophomore year of high school in fall 2012, the one-week, non-credit, commuter Summer Preview Program provides an opportunity for students to explore an academic interest in-depth, investigate a subject they are curious about, as well as gain excellent preparation for the increasingly competitive college admission process. Summer Preview students enroll in one, non-credit seminar, choosing from two exciting subjects.
Each seminar is designed to be small and engage students in an intensive exploration of a specific topic through lectures, discussions, and individual and group work. Students also benefit from a college workshop that gets them thinking about what they can do in high school to maximize the effectiveness of their college applications.

American University Community of Scholars / July 9-July 27

July 9- August 3rd / The Community of Scholars program is a rigorous college-credit summer program designed for students entering their junior and senior years of high school. The Community of Scholars offers academically outstanding students the chance to broaden their understanding of international relations by enrolling in a three-credit college class designed just for them. Students admitted to this program will sample the undergraduate experience and take advantage of what the School of International Service (SIS) has to offer.
Program I- Three-week, non-residential, on-campus program—July 9-July 28, 2012: $2,575
Program II- Four-week hybrid program, combining learning online with a residential component—July 11-July 30, 2011, online learning; July 29-August 3, 2012, in residence on AU campus: $3,075
Program III- Four-week online learning program—July 9- August3, 2012: $2,250
Campus housing is available only for one-week residential component of Program II. A limited number of home stays will be arranged for Program I. Out-of-town students are also encouraged to live with friends and family in the area and commute to campus.

United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar / Sessions

June 16-21 / The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year in high school. The Summer Seminar teaches you about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics, and professional training play equally important roles in developing our nation's leaders. If you think that you may be interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies and serving your country as an officer, you should seriously consider attending the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar.

Cornell University Summer Program / Programs run for three or six weeks between June 23and August 4 / Cornell University Summer College offers a wide variety of programs to meet your interests and scheduling needs. Depending upon whether you are a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school, you can attend Cornell for one-, three-, four-, or six-weeks, earn an average of three to six credits, and concentrate on college courses in fourteen different areas and many subjects.

Northwestern University College Preparation Program / Courses vary from 3 to 9 weeks. The program begins on Saturday July 7, 2012 Program length is determined by the length of the courses chosen / Designed for students who want new academic challenges and the experience of real college life before finishing high school. You earn Northwestern academic credit for the course you take. Over 100 courses available each summer.

Summer Leaders Seminar, also known as Invitational Academic Workshop at West Point / Session I: June 2 –8
Session II: June 9-15 / This program is for academically gifted high school juniors going into their senior year. A concentrated week of academic, athletic and social experiences. There will be military training, classes, sports, tours and a boat ride on the Hudson River.
