Welcome Aboard!

Thank you for entering the Dixie Flyers’ Direct Flight Tournament on February 27th & 28th in Clanton, Alabama! This year’s event will host 37 teams entered in 8 divisions (Multibreed, Open, and Regular), so bring your Lear Jets and Piper Cubs and join us for two days of aerial acrobatics in the lanes!

Stacy Waites and Paul Ferlitto will serve as Air Traffic Controllers for the duration of our flight.

Timeline: racing starts at 7:30 AM on Saturday and 7:00 AM on Sunday!

Friday, February 26:

·  3:00 PM – 9:00 PM: setup and check in.

·  Please do not arrive at the building prior to 3:00 PM on Friday. Crating will be assigned. 6:00PM—Green Dog Racing. Please email Diane Zeigler at to sign up for times.

Saturday, February 27:

·  6:30 AM: Building opens and check-in begins

·  7:00 AM: Box check and dog measuring

·  7:15 AM: Captain’s Meeting

·  7:30 AM: Racing begins!

Sunday, February 28:

·  6:00 AM: Building opens and check-in begins

·  6:30 AM: Dog measuring

·  7:00 AM: Racing begins!

Tournament scoring: Teams will receive 1 point for each heat won. Heats ending in a tie will result in each team receiving ½ of a point.

Placement Ties will be broken by:

1.  Head to head

2.  If still tied then: best time overall.

Friday Night Green Dog Racing: Please email Diane Ziegler at to sign up for times.

Awards: We will be providing dog title awards for titles earned at our tournament. Awards will be provided on Saturday. Sunday will be a “Run and Done.”

Facility: Please clean up after your dogs – poop bags and disposal will be available in the designated potty areas.

WIFI is available. We will post the password for access to WIFI on the table next to the workers’ raffle prizes.

Kitchen access will be available for all to use. Due to limitations in crating space, everyone may use the kitchen to set up Crock-pots if they wish. There is a refrigerator, microwave and ice machine available for everyone.

Crating: Crating areas will be assigned; Directions: Please see our website for directions.

Workers: We will definitely need your help with line and box judging! To thank you for your help filling chairs, we will be offering workers raffles each day.
