  1. Treasurer’s Report

-Council will continue to review spending proposals to support extra-curricular activities, RAH prizes, excursions, classroom equipment to support self-regulation and mindfulness in the classroom, and equipment to promote physical activity at recess and during DPA

  1. Teacher Report- Ms. Thorpe and Mr. Sharma

Ms. Thorpe – Reviewed details of upcoming community engagement event hosted by our Literacy Council on March 2 at Indigo. This event compliments our RAH program as we continue to foster a love of reading and literacy development across the curriculum.

Levi Creek Comes Together Assemblies are well- planned and organized to promote student success and share initiatives with parents along with awarding students demonstrating strong character. Our next assembly is Feb. 14 on focussing on Caring.

Mr. Sharma – Shared an upcoming basketball tournament that Miss Moulson and Mr. Sharma will attend with a student basketball team. He also provided an update on technology learning and implementation. The school recently added 20 IPAD Minis to their classroom supply of technology. Staff continue to engage in professional development with our Instructional Technology Resource Teacher.

  1. Q & A- Parent suggestion regarding future parent engagement opportunities to invite parents to learn about “new” approaches to teaching and learning. Ms.Thorpe shared upcoming PDSB event Numeracy and Beyond Parent Conference: The 2017 Parent Conference will be held onSaturday, April 1, 2017 at Mississauga Secondary School.​MississaugaSecondary School is located at 550 Courtneyp​ark Dr. W.​in Mississauga.
