The Oral Health Promotion Research Group (Irish Link) Dental Health Foundation Bursary
Background
The Oral Health Promotion Research Group (Irish Link), [OHPRG [IL]} is pleased to extend a bursary of €1,500 for 2011/2012. This bursary has been sponsored by the Dental Health Foundation (Ireland). The OHPRG (IL) is awarding the bursary this year to promote the communication of current oral health promotion projects and work that is going on across Ireland.
The intention is that applicants will present to the OHPRG committee a proposal detailing recent work/project in which they have been involved, in relation to oral health promotion activities. The applications will be assessed and the successful applicant/s will be asked to present their work through a 10–15 minute presentation at our conference in September.
The bursary will pay for an overnight stay and dinner for the presenter at the annual conference and a cash prize of €100. The bursary may be awarded to a variable number of projects. The bursary may also be withheld. These decisions will be made at the discretion of the judges.
Criteria for application for the bursary
The applicant must be a current member of the Oral Health Promotion Research Group (Irish Link). A team working together on a project may submit proposals. It is a requirement that the work should not have been presented elsewhere nor have been awarded a prize previously.
The proposal that is submitted should include a designated person who will be responsible for presenting the work at the annual conference and for accepting the overnight stay and dinner at the annual conference and €100 prize money.
Applicants must have the permission of their line manager to submit the proposal and present the project at the annual conference, and the submission must bear the signature of the line manager. Applicants should submit 6 copies of their proposal to the address below by Friday 19th August 2011.The proposal should include:

Examples of the type of proposal and project that are likely to be successful are:
Oral health promotion projects that are innovative in the way they are delivered, where there is shown to be a high need, interdisciplinary and/or intersectoral working.
The panel of judges will consist of the Committee of the Oral Health Promotion Research Group (Irish Link). The decision of the panel of judges is final and will be communicated by 26th August 2011.
