Historical presentation by Mr. Ron Anderson of the Star Valley Historical Society about the Crow Creek Freighters Wagon Route. No charge for this event.

  • FRIDAY JULY 16TH – SMITHSONIAN EXHIBIT PRESHOW-NOON- 4:30 P.M.

This will be for community groups, sponsors, and volunteers, local and regional governments and media.

  • SATURDAY JULY 17TH – AUTO TOUR ROUTE OF THE OLD FREIGHTERS WAGON ROUTE

Participants are invited to meet at the Afton Wyoming Civic Center at 8 am and will travel the freighting route. You will learn the history of this route as well as the history of the unusual names of historic spots along the trail. The tour will end in Montpelier, Idaho at the National Oregon/California Trail Center. Please bring a sack lunch and a 4x4 vehicle is needed. For more information please call (866) 847-3800.

  • FRIDAY JULY 23RD – THE GRAND OPENING OF THE “JOURNEY STORIES” EXHIBIT AND THE “A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME” HISTORICAL WORKSHOPS. THIS EVENT IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE IDAHO HUMANITIES COUNCIL AND THE WONDERFUL HISTORICAL RE-ENACTORS.

10:00 a.m.-Opening Ceremonies – Oregon Trail Center

10:30 a.m.-Pony Express Mail Run – Wells C. Stock Park by the Oregon Trail Center

10:30 a.m.-Historical Exhibit “A JourneyThrough Time” Opens.

12 noon – Historical Presentation by Pioneer Adventures

2:00 p.m. – Musical History Presentation

7:30 p.m. –IDAHO’S PREMIER PRESENTATION OF THE OCTA & BOSTON PRODUCTIONS

MOVIE “IN PURSUIT OF A DREAM”. This movie has won the 2010 Family Film Award.

Attending the Premier Presentation will be two of the movie stars to give some behind the scenes

8:00 a.m. – Paris Post office, Paris, Idaho. The Pony Express re-enactors will leave Paris and transport mail

to Montpelier at the Oregon Trail Center.
