the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Ukraine
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is back to Ukraine!
This year Ukraine has honor again to be the host country of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 after successful holding of the JESC 2009, won by Ralph Makenbah, who represented the Netherlands with the song «Click Clack».
The Final of theJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held on November 30, 2013 in Kyiv and will bring together talented young modern singers aged between ten and fifteen years old from all over the world.
It’s already for over ten years that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest discoversmore and morenew talents, allowing most gifted children to shine on the big stage and to present their country to millions of viewers.
Every year young artists come together to present their amazing talent in friendly competition. Each contest is a bright show, created by organizers for participants, their fans and the audience.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be special and magnificent holiday of song, talent and children’screativity. This year's contestthat will take place in Ukraine will become a new bright page in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, considering the new approach to the organization of the show, which includes many new elements and decisions that will be introduced to the participants and viewers of the Contest bythe National Television Company of Ukraine –the Host Broadcaster of the Contest - in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union.
Among the innovations of the Contest the first to mention is that the award will be given not only to the winner, but also tobright performers that took the second and the third places - in recognition of their amazing talent and great industry, as any victory is impossible without it.
Traditionally, every contest has its creative concept, a theme that is reflected in the official motto. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held under the motto“Be Creative!”. This theme is symbolic for Ukraine as theHost Country of the contest, as year 2013 has been declared the Year of Children’s Creativity by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
The theme of creativity is also symbolic for the contest itself, since the notion of creativity is one of the core values of the contest, it gives children the opportunity to show their best skills and talents, to learn new skills andto get to know each other.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Ukraine will also have new approaches and solutions for the social program for young artists for theJESC Week preceding the Final of the contest.In this context, particular attention will be paid to organization of educational events, since education provides each individual with the opportunity forall-round development, self-realization, forming intellectual and creative potential and resources for the prosperity of the nation.
TheFinal of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be broadcast live on November 30, 2013 at 20:00-22:00 (19:00-21:00 CET) on the First National channel of Ukraine and byparticipant broadcastersthat will have honor to present their countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
Contestants will perform live in front of millions of television and web viewers. The winner of the show will be chosenby a joint vote of the Jury and viewers from each participating country.
Holding the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Ukraine will be an important event in the framework of social and cultural integration as an integral part of the European integration of Ukraine, as well as Ukraine positioning as a state appreciating family values and holding cultural and art events to support talented and gifted children, focusing on promotion and development of children's creativity.
ABOUT THE JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a joint international product of the members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which is produced under the auspices of the EBU as part of international television programs exchange, known as Eurovision. The purpose of the contest is promotion of young talents in the field of popular music by promoting international competition among young artists.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious talent events for children aged between ten and fifteen years old. The contest was founded in 2003 and first hosted by Denmark. In subsequent years the contest was hosted by: 2004 – Norway, 2005 – Belgium, 2006 – Romania, 2007 –the Netherlands, 2008 – Cyprus, 2009 – Ukraine, 2010 – Belarus, 2011 – Armenia, 2012 –the Netherlands, 2013 – Ukraine.

of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013
The National Television Company of Ukraine has been the exclusive partner of the European Broadcasting Union in Ukraine for many years, taking part in the following projects: the Eurovision Song Contest (2003-2013), the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (2006-2013), the Eurovision Dance Contest (2007-2008), the Eurovision Young Musicians Contest (2008 and 2012), “Magic circus” (2011) and the Eurovision Young Dancers (2013).
2005 and 2009 become special years for the NTU in the history of cooperation between the NTU and the EBU, when the NTU was granted the honorary right to host in Ukraine the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Organization and hosting the Contests at the highest organizational, creative and technical levels has been praised by the European Broadcasting Union.
The NTU has been the exclusive broadcast partner for major international sporting events for years. Among the major sporting events are: the Summer and Winter Olympics since 1994 and including the 2012 Olympics, the Paralympics, 2005/2006 UEFA Champions League, UEFA Euro2000™, UEFA Euro 2004™, UEFA Euro 2008™ and UEFA Euro 2012™, 2010 FIFA World Cup™, 2014 FIFA World Cup™ etc.
The NTU produces economic, journalistic, cultural and educational, artistic, educational, entertainment, sports and children and youth programs.
The First National channel is a nationwide TV channel, the main broadcasting channel of the NTU.
The NTU broadcasts since 1951. The NTU is a member of the EBU. Technical coverage of the channel is 98%.
