A regular meeting of the Board of Education, Newark Central School District, Newark, New York was held on September 21, 2016,at HighSchool. Trustees present were: Susie Crothers Earl, Eric DeTaeye,Russell Harris,Thomas Ledbetter, Yvonne MacTaggart, Jim Miranda and Rebecca Vermeulen. Also present were: Matt Cook, Superintendent; Ed Gnau, Assistant Superintendent for Business / Clerk of the Board. Absent: Krista Lewis, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
Mr. Harris called the meeting to order at7:00PM.
The Board said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Matt Cook announced that the Project Lead the Way “White Coat Ceremony” would take place on October 3, 2016 in the High School LGI.
The board allowed for public comment.
Sue Achille and her team presented the Perkins School Plan for Excellence.
Stephanie Miller and her team presented the Lincoln School Plan for Excellence.
Jeff Hamelinck and his team presented the Kelley School Plan for Excellence.
Matt Cook discussed the UPK Waiting List. The number of students on the waiting list is average to below average and the number of students enrolled in UPK classes is holding steady.
