New episode of "Little secrets from the great chiefs of cuisine"

Podravka's most famous brand Vegeta was created 50 years ago, and today is a synonym for an entire category of all-purpose food seasonings. Vegeta has been present in the media and it communicates with the consumers since 1974 when the culinary show "Little secrets from the great chiefs of cuisine" started being run on television.

Reminiscing the '70s and the show "Little secrets from the great chiefs of cuisine", a five minute episode of this show was filmed for the occasion of Vegeta's birthday, and it will be run on the first channel of Croatian national television on 16th May at 07.20 PM.

Cooking with Vegeta is also a tradition and a modern life style, so the filming gathered familiar faces connected to Vegeta – culinary master Stevo Karapandža and presenter Oliver Mlakar, together with Podravka's culinary specialist Mišel Tokić.

"Little secrets from the great chiefs of cuisine" was the beginning of Vegeta's marketing communication where the consumers were educated on how to prepare a rich and delicious meal with a spoonful of Vegeta. The show was run for 24 full years on Thursdays before the central evening news on the first channel of Croatian national television.

It was one of the longest TV series in Croatia and it presented an innovation and revolution, considering it was unique at the time, just like Vegeta, and more than 1000 recipes were prepared.

Numerous renowned guests were hosted in the show, and although the concept of the show was changed over the years, it maintained its recognizability. Stevo Karapandža, who conveyed to the viewers various culinary recipes, always adding a spoonful of Vegeta in the end, together with the presenter Oliver Mlakar contributed largely to it.

The trademark of the show was the introductory song by Arsen Dedića: ''Ali nekih stvari ima, što ne govore se svima, što se samo nekom šapnu, ti znaš!'' (There are some things that you do not tell to everybody, just whisper them, you know!".

- After so many years positive memories came bursting and it is a wonderful feeling to be filming again the show watched by so many generations, and which will surely be remembered by that one sentence which marked every "Little secrets", and that is "and a spoonful of Vegeta" – said Stevo Karapandža.

Vegeta is today sold in about forty countries around the world and it has become a part of the culinary tradition, and this year Vegeta rewards and celebrates this trust and fidelity of the consumers.
