WHY:On Thursday, April 27, beginning at 11:00 am The Chiefs Ambassadors and local businesses will be participating in the 2nd annual Shadow Buddies “Shoot for the Kids” raising money for the Shadow Buddies “Super Hero” program. As part of Travis Kelce’s program, he is the Shadow Buddy Superhero who delivers these Buddies to local pediatric patients throughout the year. Giving back to the community, Travis enjoys interacting with kids and helps provide smiles during their hospital stays. Since 1995, The Shadow Buddies Foundation has been providing emotional support to medically challenged children and their parents with our condition-specific dolls that are designed to be a friend, “just like me”. They not only provide comfort to the ill child, but also provide physicians a hands-on method of educating newly diagnosed children and their families. Beginning with four Buddies in 1995, today the Shadow Buddies family has grown to over 28 different condition specific dolls for both girls and boys. Celebrating this year our 22nd anniversary, over one million Shadow Buddies have been delivered to date.

The mission of the Shadow Buddies Foundation is to provide emotional support through education regarding illness, disability, or medical treatments. The foundation accomplishes this mainly through unique programs designed to enhance the lives of children and adults and increase compassion and understanding of differences.

We are very excited that Bill Maas is one of the Ambassadors attending the shoot along with Tony Adams, Anthony Davis and Ted McKnight. Bill Maas and Miles Postlethwait did a poster over 25 years ago for the 1st Kansas vs. Missouri High School game at Arrowhead Stadium. These two will be re-connecting tomorrow. There will be a special demonstration at 12:30 before the shoot by Champion trick shooter Chase Walter.
