How to do lab corrections:
1) You only have the opportunity to do lab corrections if you received all 5 pp points.
2) You can receive up to ½ the summative points back, however you will lose all of the PP points.
You may do corrections if you received less than a B- (80%).
To determine this divide the amount of points you received by the total points and multiply by 100. (ex: 52/70 x 100= 74.2%, you should do corrections).
3) Re-write the whole section that you lost points on. If it’s the purpose, redo the purpose. If it’s the 2nd paragraph in the conclusion, you only need to do that paragraph (however if you used voice throughout the whole conclusion, you need to redo the whole conclusion without it).
4) Explain what you are changing and why.
5) Make the corrections to that section and highlight what you corrected (either in Word or later with an actual highlighter pen).
5) Staple it to the back of the original lab.
YOU MUST TURN IN THE ORIGINAL WITH THE CORRECTIONS!! Otherwise I have no idea what you are fixing or where you lost the points.
6) Turn it all in by the due date (one week after you have received the original lab back, graded).
Example:
I am making corrections to the hypothesis because I did not base it on the purpose and it did not specify what the actual outcome would be.
The hypothesis stated, “If radishes are grown then one will be taller.”
Hypothesis: “If radishes are grown with fertilizer or without, then the one with fertilizer will grow taller.”.
