Dear World of Inquiry School Families and Students,
Welcome to the secondary program at the World of Inquiry School. We are eagerly preparing for the upcoming school year and look forward to working with you. Please note the following important information:
The first day for students is Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Please note that this is prior to Labor Day weekend. Students are expected to attend on September 2 and 3. School will be closed on Friday, September 4 and Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. School resumes on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
- All secondary students are expected to arrive at 7:30am. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-7:55am. Classes will begin promptly at 8:00. All students are expected to attend Crew from 8:00-8:20 each day.
- All secondary students will use the main entrance located on University Avenue for arrival. Students will be subject to random scanning and screening in collaboration with school administrators and campus security.
- Dismissal is at 2:30pm. Students will be dismissed through the main doors on University Avenue. Students who are assigned to smaller yellow buses or for parent pick-up will be directed to the Scio Street parking lot/loop. Parents should not parkon University Avenue or neighboring businesses during dismissal. Parents can park in the Downstairs Cabaret lot or do quick pick-up by pulling through the Scio Street lot. Parking or standing is not an option in the Scio Street lot.
Please see the attached documents for information about school uniforms, reading and supply lists. We strongly recommend that you order/purchase uniform items during the month of July in order to avoid delays and confusion prior to the opening of school.
ALL 7th grade students and all NEW 8th through 12th grade students are required to attend our secondary orientation on August 26th 5:30-7:30with a parent or guardian. Current 8-12 students are asked not to attend as space and materials are limited.
All 7th through 12th grade students interested in participating in fall sports please see the attached packet with important information regarding athletics. For additional information, please contact Donna Enright (Athletic Director). Ms. Enright’s email address is:
Information about sports for grades 7-9 will be shared at the orientation on August 26th. All secondary students will receive another mailing specific to sports/athletics in early August.
Transportation information will be provided by RCSD Central Office. The district is in the process of completing plans for secondary transportation.
Please see the attached information which includes the secondary supply list and the summer reading requirements. This information will be posted on the school website ( All students must complete the reading assignments by September 11, 2015. Also, please note that specific teachers may require a small number of additional supplies once classes begin in September.
Please note that the seventh grade packet includes an array of additional materials and notes upcoming events specific to incoming 7th grade students.
