What began in 2005 as a television pilot featuring the golf lifestyle, has grown into a series of golf-related networking events in 16 major U.S cities. Happy hour and golf events feature guest speakers, hands-on golf clinics, contests, food and wine along with unbeatable networking opportunities. Both formats provide women a comfortable environment to become acquainted with the benefits of golf, as well as connect them with others who share a passion for the game.
The aim of Women on Course is to equip women for the modern business age by introducing them to valuable business skills they may typically overlook. Donna Hoffman, the founder of Women on Course observes, “Rather than focus on the time and commitment it takes to achieve a low handicap, we highlight the business and social benefits of the game. Women who attend an event, are already using golf for business and they might not even swing a club.”
Every year, more and more women take up the sport of golf, and according to the National Golf Foundation. 22% of all golfers are women, which translates into 5.76 million female golfers. Women on Course strives to increase that number by helping women connect with golf resources and each other. Beyond events, Women on Course recently launched several new services including an on-line golf boutique to access stylish fashions, a resource guide to find instructors and other golf services, as well as a membership package including access to an on-line clubhouse to facilitating networking in between events.
