The European Business and Finance programme is a joint programme of three universities: Nottingham Trent University (GB), University of Economics in Katowice (PL) and Brno University of Technology (CR). The joint programme was accredited in all three countries and is supported by the EU as it is based on the idea of Joint Master Degree studies as one of the outcomes of the Bologna Process. It is the first study programme of its kind in the Czech Republic.

The aim of the Joint MSc Degree in European Business and Finance is to develop managers capable of working in a pan-European cross-cultural business environment. It is a response to the fast changing European academic environment and reflects the Bologna process that is strongly supported by the British Higher Education Authorities too.

The Joint MSc Degree in European Business and Finance will:

  • provide students with an opportunity to develop multicultural and multilingual communication skills which enables participants to communicate effectively with both the academic and the managerial and business communities
  • promote a critical and analytical approach to the use of information in multilingual and multicultural business situations
  • develop students’ ability to design and implement a research project based on up to date knowledge and practical experience of the changing European and global business environment
  • enhance awareness and understanding of the changing international context for the practice of European business and finance
  • develop student’s comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an European finance specialised area.

Successful graduates will obtain

  1. diploma of a Master of Science (abbreviated "MSc") signed by Nottingham Trent University – after completing all the subjects in the study programme,
  2. diploma of an "inženýr" (abbreviated "Ing.") – after completing all the subjects in the study programme and passing the final state examination at the Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology

Admissions

The application for studying at FBM BUT have to be send to 20th August 2017. Electronic application for studying at FBM BUT will be on web pages of the faculty.

The terms and conditions applicable to the admission process are set by the Dean'sdirective on admission into Bachelor's and follow-up Master's degreeprogrammes for the relevant academic year. Admission is conditioned on due completion of a Bachelor's programme in economics or a programme in a related field. A programme in a related field is deemed to mean a programme that includes, to a sufficient extent, subjects comprising the theoretical basis of a Bachelor's programme in economics, in particular mathematics, statistics, informatics, microeconomics, macroeconomics and finance.

The Dean decides on admission following a review of written documents submitted by the applicant in English – CV, motivation letter, evidence of pending or completed study in a Bachelor's programme, together with a transcript of examinations taken, and evidence of further professional activities, certificate of English language examination (knowledge of English equivalent to 550 TOEFL points is required).

Applications must be submitted by August 20th, 2017.

The programme will be start at 25th of September 2017.

Fees for the part of study taking place at Faculty of Business and Management of BUT Brno are set by the Dean's decision for every academic year.Fees are payable in full at the beginning of the academic year.

Fees for the part of study taking place at Nottihgham Trent University are set by the foreign university. The fee does not include costs of living in the Great Britain.
