APPEAL PROCESS FOR ARCTIC WINTER GAMES
FUTSALROSTER SELECTION
1.Grounds for Appeal
Appeals of decisions made for the Futsal roster selection may be heard only if there are sufficient grounds for the appeal. Sufficient grounds include the following:
-making a decision that was influenced by bias
-failure to consider relevant information
-taking into account irrelevant information in making the decision
2.Procedures for Appeal of Decisions made for A.W.G. Futsal Roster selection:
a) The individual shall have 48 hours from time of receiving the decision from the
coach to submit a written notification of appeal to the Yukon Soccer Association Office or to a Yukon Soccer Association Executive Member.
b)Likewise, the Yukon Soccer Association shall have twenty-four hours from the time of receiving a copy of the decision to launch an appeal.
c)The grounds for appeal must be stated in writing and delivered to the Y.S.A. office or to a member of the Y.S.A. Executive.
d)An Appeals Committee, which shall consist of at least three members, one of whom shall be the Chairperson and one of whom shall act as the Recording Secretary, shall hear all properly submitted appeals.
e)Within 72 hours after receiving notification of an appeal, the Appeals Committee shall convene a hearing. The hearing shall be convened by such procedures as the Appeals Committee sees fit, provided that the following principles are observed:
- the appellant shall be given reasonable notice of the hearing and shall have the opportunity to address the committee
- the appellant shall be advised of their right to be accompanied by an advocate or any other adviser
- the hearing shall be held in private
- the committee may request that witnesses to the Trials be present at the hearing to provide evidence
- the appellant, the AWG selection committee or the Yukon Soccer Association may also call witnesses
f)The Appeals Committee shall have the authority to uphold the decision, to reverse the decision, and/or to modify any of the recommended decisions.
g) The decision of the Appeals Committee shall be communicated to all parties in writing, with reasons, and shall take effect immediately.
h)The decision of the Appeals Committee shall be final and binding, subject only to a decision of Sport Yukon.
