•The SFE seeks to continue the work of the Swiss evangelical mission which worked in Laos between 1902 and 1975.
•Having established itself as independent NGO in 1998, the SFE is able to carry out its mission of service whilst still maintaining a close link with the churches in Europe from which it stems, and to express their concern for evangelism and unity between the churches, without favoring any particular denomination.
•The current mission of the SFE is to be a living example of the gospel in a real and tangible way as it serves the country, alongside its population and its authorities. The SFE wishes its work to reflect the Gospel, lived out in day to day life, by the quality of the professional work of its representatives, by the strength of relationships - not only between the expatriates, but also with the Laotians, and finally through personal testimony.
- Project Overview
•He/she is responsible for the implantation and running of the training activities
•Increasing capacity building for nurses to acquire skills in provincial and district hospitals
- Key activity areas : he/she is expected
•to carry out training of trainer activities, in the form of “bedside teaching”as well as basic teaching
•to supervise paramedical activities defined in the project description, in cooperation with the expatriate project manager and conforming to MoH and WHO guidelines and other relevant good medical and public health practice.
Logistics :
to ensure correct and timely ordering: all necessary supplies needed for the project.
Staff Management :
to work in a complementary way with the project manager for supervision, coaching and appropriate training of Nationally Recruited Staff in assigned programs
Administration / Communication / Coordination :
•to facilitate collaboration with the provincial health department, the provincial hospital and the local authorities
•to team-up with the training team and the SFE team
•to participate in the planning and design of future projects in the country.

- Skills, Education, and Experience required:
•Certificate / diploma of nurse/midwife
•Experience or training in adult education
•Good knowledge of written and spoken English
•Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

- Benefits
•Support : The candidate has to find a part of his support through personal fund raising. A part of his support could come for example from governmental agencies like CFI in Germany or the DDC for Switzerland.
•The SFE ensures that the following expenses are covered :
- Pension contribution, unemployment contribution, health insurance contribution, repatriation fees, specific insurances, etc…
- Installation costs
- Children’s installation expenses , school fees
•Briefing in Europe before departure
•SFE organizes a three month intensive Lao course at arrival in Laos with intercultural introduction and initiation to the SFE and its operating system.
•Transportation in country required by the activity is covered by SFE
•Return flights to and from the country program is covered by SFE.
•SFE organizes a spiritual retreat every year for expatriate staff in Laos.
•Twenty days of local vacation per year of service in Laos.
•For a three year employment contract, a two months leave in the country of origin is accorded after two years (flight is covered by SFE).
