Postsecondary Plans of 2007-08FloridaHigh School Graduates
Florida public high schools annually survey their graduating seniors regarding their educational plans after graduation. In this pre-graduation survey, graduates choose from nine types of institutions when indicating their postsecondary education plans. These categories include public and private community colleges in Florida; public and private universities in Florida; community colleges and universities outside Florida; the U.S. armed forces; and technical, trade, or other training in and out of the state. Please note that the figures in this report are not reflective of actual post-secondary enrollment and that not all graduates participate in the optional survey. In 2007-08, the majority of graduates with postsecondary plans (56.7%) indicated that they intended to enroll in a Florida public community college or university. The graph below illustrates the number and percentage of 2007-08 graduates with postsecondary plans by type of institution.
