During last year’s summer holiday, Kevin and his family where planning going on holiday for two weeks to Malta. They booked at the hotel since May and the plane tickets since the beginning of June and were excited to leave. They were going by plane since it was cheaper than by ship.

Their trip was scheduled to start on the 10th of June and end on the 24th of June. On the 9th they were done packing and getting ready for the trip and the next day at 10 a.m. they left for the airport. Everything seemed alright at the time.

At the airport they went straight to check in and board the plane. They gave the officer the tickets for the flight they were going to board, but as soon as they were about to board the plane, a security officer stopped them and told them they cannot board the plane because the tickets were invalid. They all looked shocked at the man and went to the Security Bureau escorted by him. They sat there for about two hours waiting for the problem to be solved. When they got tired of waiting and started to think that they weren’t going to arrive in Malta that day, a man in a black suit entered the room they were waiting in and told them that it was just a mistake made by the officer at the check-in desk who accidentally tried to validate the tickets on the list of tickets for the previous day.

The man in the black suit told them that they would get tickets for the next flight to Malta since they missed theirs and that the tickets would be at first class as a compensation for the trouble that was caused. After about half an hour they boarded the plane and they were finally on their way to Malta.
