BLUE LINE CLUB GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:12 PM. MINUTES REVIEWED FROM JANUARY MEETING, MOTION TO APPROVE BY ABBY D’HEILLY, SECOND BY CHIP SHEA.
TREASURE REPORT GIVEN, MOTION TO APPROVE BY JIM ENRIGHT, SECOND BY MATT FORE.
GAMBELING REPORT GIVEN BY ROBERTA STANGL, MOTION TO APPROVE TONY WEBER, SECOND BY MARK DRAGICH. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF WE CAN GET A PULL TAB MACHINE SET UP OUT AT VALLEY GOLF COURSE. ROBERTA WILL TALK WITH JAY FREEDLAND OUT AT VALLEY AND APPLY WITH GAMING FOR ANOTHER SITE PERMIT. SHE WILL ALSO NEGOTIATE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH VALLEY.
MARY OLSON GAVE THE CONCESSION REPORT, YEAR TO DATE EXPENSES ARE $39,007.02 DEPOSITS ARE 44,689.69. SHE IS GETTING READY FOR THE SECTION GAMES. SHE ALSO PURCHASED A NEW PIZZA OVEN. MOTION TO APPROVE MADE BY MARK DRAGICH, SECOND BY LORI WOLFF.
OLD BUSINESS
ADVERTISING AT THE CIVIC IS ALMOST ALL GONE. GLASS ETCHINGS ARE STILL AVAILABLE. WE ADDED GREENWAVE LOGO’S TO THE CORNERS OF THE BOARDS AT THE CIVIC. THESE ARE BEING PAID FOR BY ISD #595.
HOCKEY BAGS PURCHASED BY THE BLC FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TEAM. COST $900-1000. ROD MADE THE DECISION BASED ON CONVERSATIONS THAT WERE AFTER THE ACTUAL BOARD MEETING. HE THOUGHT THEY WERE DURING THE MEETING. THE BOYS HOCKEY TEAM BRINGS A LOT OF MONEY TO THE CLUB FROM THE ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT AND CONCESSION SALES. THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO THAT WILL BENEFIT OUR FUTURE GREENWAVE. ROD STATED, “IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME OR WITH A DECISION I MAKE, COME AND TALK TO ME DO NOT SEND AN ANNONAMOUS LETTER.”
SOUND SYSTEM AT THE BLUE LINE ARENA IS DONE. THEY ARE MOVING THE SPEAKERS DOWN BEHIND THE NETTING.
LOAN ON THE BLUE LINE ARENA IS AT $26,500.96 WE SHOULD CONSIDER PAYING THIS OFF AND SAVING SOME MONEY IN INTEREST.
WE ORDERED NEW DOORS FOR THE BLUE LINE ARENA.
MATT STENGL PROPOSED A NEW CLOTHING LINE FOR THE BLUE LINE CLUB. WE ARE ALL FOR IT AND WOULD LIKE TO MEET INDIVIDUALLY WITH HIM BEFORE THE GENERAL MEETING NEXT MONTH TO WORK ON A BUSINESS PLAN TOGETHER.
NEW BUSINESS
TAXES OWED TO THE IRS. $8000.00 WE ARE WORKING WITH OUR ACCOUNTANT AND HE WILL TRY AND GET ALL LATE PENALTIES WAVED.
SO FAR WE HAVE MADE $609 IN TSHIRT SALES FROM THE GREENWAVE HOCKEY TSHIRTS. THERE ARE STILL SHIRTS AVAILABLE IN THE CIVIC CONCESSION STAND.
JIM ENRIGHT TALKED ABOUT HOCKEY SCHOOL. THE BROSURES ARE AT THE PRINTERS AND READY TO GO WHEN HE TELLS THEM TOO. WE WILL RUN HOCKEY SCHOOL FOR 3 WEEKS AND OFFER THE FIRST WEEK OF ICE TO THE FIGURE SKATERS.
SECTION PLAYOFFS ARE COMING UP FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. WE WILL NEED LOTS OF HELP IN THE CONCESSION STANDS. PLEASE HELP OUT. THIS WILL BE A HUGE MONEY MAKER FOR THE BLC.
NOMINATIONS FOR THE BOARD ARE NEXT MONTH. ELECTIONS IN APRIL. 4 BOARD POSITIONS ARE UP, CHIP SHEA, LINDA EMERY, ROD HAJICEK AND SCOTT SELK.
THE BLUE LINE CLUB WILL BE SPONSERING 2 $500 SCHOLARSHIPS. WE WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF THE PROCESS OF CHOOSING WHO THESE WILL GO TO.
MARK DRAGICH SAID THAT TEAMS ARE GETTING READY FOR REGION PLAY OFFS. THE COMPRESSOR WAS STARTED THIS AFTERNOON. PEANUT JAMBOREE IS COMING UP. BOY SECTIONS ARE BEING HOSTED HERE 2/21 AND 23. LOTS OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THE GIRLS SECTIONS. JIM SCANNLINS FATHER PASSED AWAY. PESCH MEMORIAL SQUIRT TOURNAMENT WENT VERY WELL. APRIL ICE CAN BE BOUGHT FOR THE BLUE LINE ARENA. $110 FOR AN HOUR, $150 FOR 1.5 HOURS AND $200 FOR 2 HOURS. IT’S BEEN A GOOD YEAR.
TONY ASKED ABOUT GETTING AN ATM SET UP AT THE CIVIC. HE WILL LOOK INTO THIS.
