GENERAL
Tasmanian Pacing Club – 15th February 2015 – Race 6
Stewards concluded an adjourned inquiry stemming from this event. Trainer/driver Christian Salter pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 25(1) for having an incorrect stable return. The particulars being that the gear worn by ISLAND DISCO did not correspond with the gear notified on the stable return. Mr Salter was fined the sum of $100. Mr Salter was found guilty of a charge under AR 162(1)(ww) which states that ‘a driver shall not allow his or her horse to shift from its running line unless it is commencing a forward move or improving its position’, the particulars of the charge were that Mr Salters as the driver of ISLAND DISCO allowed that mare to shift from its position on the peg line to a position wider on the track racing the down the back straight on the final occasion and as a result ROCKBANK DANCER was then able to gain an inside run. In determining the charge Stewards took into consideration evidence from drivers Christian Salter and Dylan Ford (ROCKBANK DANCER), observations from Stewards and the official race films, the mares racing history and also evidence from Mr Salter in defence of his not guilty plea. An analysis was also undertaken on betting on the race. Mr Salters was fined the sum of $200. The bar in relation to ISLAND DISCO has now been removed.
