Welcome To BETA!
Congratulations! Because of your academic achievement, you have earned the eligibility to become part of Junior Beta Club! Hopefully, you will accept the honor and join our team of student leaders in our school.
Who is in Beta? Policy…Students who show academic excellence by maintaining at least Honor Roll in middle school are selected to participate in Beta Club.In order to stay in Beta, you MUST maintain Honor Roll or Banner Roll. One C is probation and two or more, you are not in Beta any longer! Any D or F on your report card; then you are automatically not in Beta any longer!
***Club members/participants must meet and have met all required educational expectations set forth by Louisiana State Department of Education, Calcasieu Parish School Board, and S.P. Arnett middle school in regards to attendance, GPA, testing, etc.***
What does Beta do?Beta members do community service activities in their school and city. Our school has participated in the Heart Walk, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Breast Cancer Walk, Clean-Campus Competition, collected and donated items for the non-profit organization GLEAN, as well as other events.
Meetings and Events….We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30AM in the Commons Area. Special meetings may be called and we look for opportunities to serve our community all throughout the school year; therefore, please let us know in our meetings if you have any ideas!
How is Beta different from other clubs?First, Beta is an organization that you have to be invited to be in based on your academic excellence. Second, Beta is a club that promotes leadership and service in our community.
Now that I’ve been invited to be in Beta, what do I do next?
1_Sign the permission slip!
2_Pay the $25 dues (that covers the $15 initiation fee that I have to turn into the Beta headquarters website and $10 for the club shirt). You’ll receive a Beta Certificate, a pin, and access to the Beta website. You will then be a new inductee for the 2016-2017 school year at S.P. Arnett Middle!
