DramaWorkshops

We look forward to seeing you all at this year’s Drama workshop on Saturday 24th March. This is a great opportunity for the drama department to show what they have been working on this term, and to get used to performing in front of an audience, in “the round”.

The matinee will start promptly at 4.00pm doors open at 3.45pm and the evening will start promptly at 6.30pm doors open at 6.15pm. Tickets are now available and will be on sale at St Philips and Parchmore community Centre, adults £5 child (under 16) and concessions £3. We wish all the drama pupils and drama department good luck!

You can only buy Two tickets per child as seating is restricted.

The June Stimson Drama Awardwill also be announced at this event to the pupil who has worked the hardest, attended all rehearsals and show most dedication and progress in acting through out the year.

We are very excited to announce that we have managed to get the performing rights to perform “OUR HOUSE” The musical. We were so excited and impressed by former pupil Jason Kajdi who was playing the lead role in the National Tour. That we went straight ahead and booked the rights for BWA pupils to be able to do it too!

It’s a great show with lots of parts, plenty singing and fabulous dance numbers, all tied up with a great moral story about love!

This show will be open to 11 years plus and will rehearse for the ensemble every Sunday 12 -6pm and for people playing roles they will need to also come to rehearsals on Wednesday and Fridays.

We have booked the theatre at Royal Russell School in Croydon

29th October – 3rd November 2018. This is much earlier than we wanted but it is the only time they have, so rehearsals will start in August! We plan to start rehearsal on 28th August and rehearse through until the show including half term in October. Please only commit to this show if you are fully available for this whole period. Anyone who misses rehearsals maybe cut from the show. Auditions will be held on Sunday 22nd July and scripts will be handed out over the summer so that the principals can learn their lines! The cost to be in the show is £150 per child to cover rehearsal costs, MD, Director, choreographer, hire of hall, costumes and also the theatre hire costs and performing rights. This is going to be an exciting project and the pupils will learn so much from it. Applications forms to audition will be available from May 2018.

If you would like to be a part of this amazing opportunity please complete the attached show form and return with a non returnable deposit of £50.00
