The Book of Ruth that the Remnant Must Know
I. The Remnant Must Not Depart from the Covenant
Ruth1:1-5
1 In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab.
1. What happened to Israel when they lost hold of the covenant?
(1) Slavery (Ex.3:1-20)
(2) Life in the wilderness (Num.14:1-10)
(3) Captivity (Is.6:1-13)
(4) Colonization (Mt.16:13)
2.Let's look at the family that has lost hold of the covenant.
(1) It was difficult to solve the problem of food, clothing and shelter and they were afraid of this problem (Ruth 1:1)
(2) They moved to a land that was cursed (Ruth 1:1-2)
①It was a land where the descendants of Lot's eldest daughter lived (Gen.19:37).
②It was a land of curses (Jdg.11:17, Is.25:10).
(3) All the men in Elimelech's family line of died in that place (Ruth 1:2-5).
3.If this is true, then what is the covenant?
(1) The solution of the fundamental problem that appeared in Gen. chap.3.
(2) Why was Israel important?
①Because God gave the word to Israel.
②Because God planned to send the Messiah through the Israelites.
(3) Who is the "Israel" of today?
①Those who have the gospel.
②Those who will proclaim the gospel.
Ⅱ. The Remnant Must Have a Gospel Field
Ruth1:6-14
14 At this they wept again, Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her.
1.Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem from the land of Moab.
(1) Orpah who did not have the covenant did not follow them (Ruth1:15).
(2) Ruth who had the covenant clung to Naomi(Ruth 1:16-18).
(3) Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem (Ruth 1:19-22).
2. The seven Remnants had a gospel field.
(1) Gen39:1-6,45:1-5 (Joseph)
(2) Ex3:1-20 (Moses)
(3) 1Sam.7:1-15(Samuel)
(4) Ps.78:70-72 (David)
(5) 2Kgs.2:1-10 (Elisha)
(6) Is 6:1-13 (Isaiah)
(7) Acts 19:21 (Paul)
3. The Remnant must have three fields.
(1) Prayer field
(2) Evangelism field
(3) Lifestyle (talent) field
Ⅲ. The Remnant Must Take Meetings Seriously
Ruth 2:1-16
13"May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord", she said. "You have given me comfort and have spoken kindly to your servant- though I do not have the standing of one of your servant girls".
1. Let's look at Boaz and Ruth's meeting.
(1) Field of picking up the leftover grain (Ruth2:2).
(2) Field of love (Ruth 2:5-10)
(3) Field of grace (Ruth 2:13)
2. 4 meetings are especially important. God's blessings are great.
(1) Family and parents (Ex.20:1-5)
(2) Friend (Ps.1:1-6)
(3) Mentor (2Tim.2:1-7)
(4) Spouse (Acts 18:1-4)
3. Consider meetings important.
(1) In the gospel

Ⅳ. The Remnant Must Take Marriage Seriously
Ruth 4:1-12
12 Through the offspring the Lord gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.
1, The marriage between Boaz and Ruth was a marriage that brought about God's plan.
(1) Tear filled past (Ruth1:1-5)
(2) Heart wrenching decision (Ruth 2:1-16)
(3) Worthwhile meeting and love (Ruth 3:1-12)
(4) Marriage that had the covenant (Ruth 4:1-12)
(5) Future descendants who had the covenant (Ruth 4:13-22)
2.How should you prepare for marriage?
(1) Must uncover God's plan for you.
①Canaan

(2) Uncover God's plan concerning the person who needs me.

(3) Understand each other's spiritual background.

3. The Remnant must take marriage seriously.
(1) With love

(3) In the covenant
Ⅴ. The Remnant Must Have a Sure Goal
Ruth 4:13-22
13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. Then he went to her and the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.
1. God had a sure plan for Ruth.
(1) An Israelite, Mahlon married a pagan woman (Ruth 1:1-5)
(2) However, her husband died (Ruth 1:1-5)
(3) However, she learned her mother-in-law's faith (Ruth 1:6-22)
(4) And she met and married Boaz (Ruth4:1-12)
(5) Ruth gave birth to an heir of world evangelization (Ruth 4:13-22)
2. The Remnant must have three sure goals.
(1) Enjoying the abundant mystery of the gospel and prayer.
①20 strategies in the gospel
②Enjoy through prayer
(2) Set up the sure plan of evangelism.
①Following the time schedule
②Put it into action
(3) Set up the sure plan of success
①Specialization
②Globalization
③Evangelization
3. God moves everything for world evangelization.
(1) World history and church history testify this fact.
(2) God moves every person's life, death, blessings and curses for the sake of world evangelization.
(3) You can uncover God's plan for you within world evangelization as well.
