2017 USANA BRITISH SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP

Men, Ladies, Masters, Juniors, Juveniles, and Pee Wees

5,000m British Club Relay Championship

The Championship will take place at:

National Ice Centre, Bolero Square, Nottingham, NG1 1LA

Date: Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April 2017

REPORT TIME Saturday 7.30 hrs* and Sunday 7.00 hrs* at the latest

WARM UP STARTS Saturday 8.00 hrs* and Sunday 7.30 hrs*

COMPETITION ENDS Saturday 14.00 hrs* and Sunday 12.30 hrs*

RELAY

Relay teams may consist of Masters, Senior Men & Ladies and Jun A, B and C Men & Ladies.

ENTRIES

All skaters must be current members of the NISA with the minimum standard for entry being:

The skater must have taken and passed at least an Inter Bronze medal test time in their particular category (except Masters). This time must have been taken in an authorised test session (not competition).

ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEAR THEIR NISA ALLOCATED YELLOW HELMET COVERS

Club secretaries are asked to forward their skaters entries, using the official entry form, including their appropriate category, date of birth and allocated helmet number, together with the entry fees and appropriate forms to Kirstie Robinson, Events Co-ordinator, National Ice Skating Association, Grains Building, High Cross Street, Nottingham, NG1 3AX.

NOTE: All Skaters from the World Class Programme must enter via their respective clubs or as Independent skaters.

AWARD CEREMONIES

It will be mandatory that during the awarding of Championship prizes, skaters must wear their skating uniforms and skates (without helmet).

NO TRACK SUITS, SWEATSHIRTS, TEESHIRTS, HATS, CAPS OR ANY OTHER CASUAL ATTIRE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE ROSTRUM.

ENTRY FEES

£25.00 per skater (non- refundable) to cover all distances of the Championship.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

The format of the Championship will be as follows (subject to entries).

Senior Men and Ladies: Individual distance Championship, and Overall Championship.

Masters, Junior Men/Ladies, Juvenile Men/Ladies, Peewee Boys/Girls, Peewee 2: Overall Championship with distance and overall ranking races.

Subject to a minimum of four skaters the Masters and the Peewee 2 categories will be split into male and female.

Enclosed is an Anti Doping Parental Consent form and Photo Consent form - please copy and distribute the Anti Doping form to all athletes taking part who are under 18 years of age, and the photo consent form to all athletes. These forms need to be filled in and submitted with the entry forms.

Field of play: The ice surface, officials area and all of the ground floor surrounding the ice rink, the corridors and such other area as may need to be so designated.

Club Secretaries will be required to apply for photo ID accreditation for their team leader and coach in advance of the event, therefore, the names and photographs of the coach and team leader must be submitted to Kirstie Robinson with the entry. Each Club will be allowed one coach plus one team leader or one coach or one team leader.

Video and Photography Policy

Please be aware that due to Child Protection Legislation in the UK, the taking of video and photography is strictly prohibited at all NISA events. An official photographer will be present at the event.

NO cameras/videos will be allowed into the event. Any person found using cameras/videos (including mobile phones) will be asked to leave the arena. Please make sure all of your members are aware of this policy.

Media Accreditation may be applied for. Applicants will be asked to produce a CRB certificate and Press credentials.

Media Accreditation will allow photography but only from a designated area in the arena.

PARENTAL CONSENT FORM FOR SKATERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18

6.0 Eligibility of Skaters for Anti-Doping Tests

It is the Association’s policy that no skater under the age of 18 years at the time of anti-doping may be tested without written parental or guardian consent except those skaters under 18 who are currently members of or who have been members, of a UK Regional, National or International Squad. It is a condition of eligibility for UK Regional, National and/or International Squad membership that skaters under 18 years provide written parental or guardian consent to anti-doping testing both in and out-of-competition. For all skaters over 18 years of age, it is a condition of entry to all events and competitions sanctioned by NISA permit, that they are willing to participate in anti-doping testing at that event.

6.1 Anti-Doping Testing Programme - NISA Policy

The Association has determined that anti-doping testing may be carried out at any of the following:

Competition Testing: International events held in the UK

UK Championships

Regional Championships (England/Scotland/Wales/N Ireland)

National Competitions (Series)

Squad Testing: International Squad

National Squad (Junior/Senior)

Out-of-Comp Testing: International Squad

(Including camps) National Squad (Junior/Senior)

Disciplines: Figure

Dance

Synchronized

Short Track Speed

Genders: Male/Female

Age: Not under 18 without written parental/guardian consent except

Current/past members of National Squad who may be tested.
