JOB TITLE:Sphere Leisure Brand Manager

REPORTS TO:Trading Services Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A

  1. JOB PURPOSE AND MAIN AIMS

a)Working closely with the Trading Services Manager and Soho Store Managers you will be involved in

the recruitment and training of all Soho Staff including the implementation of a rolling recruitment plan,

brand training and inductions.

b)You will be responsible for carrying out bi-annual reviews ofcafé and event menus and product ranges,

providing up to date information to Converge Computer Support team on all necessary changes

including prices, product details and promotions.

c)To ensure the set up and delivery of an effective stock control system and KPI information is in place

d)To ensure the necessary auditing checks are carried out in line with the Soho brand and Circadian

Trust’s own set standards.

e)To be a proactive member of the on site operational management team and to provide the lead in

developing the food and beverage (F&B) operation.

  1. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training and Recruitment

a)To set up and deliver a rolling recruitment plan working with HR to ensure a constant bank of dynamic staff are being recruited.

b)To carry out all brand training working alongside the Store Managers on Soho/Brand inductions and constant refresher training.

c)To produce a complete induction plan that incorporates both Soho Brand standards and training alongside Circadian Trusts own induction and standards.

d)Deliver new range training at the launch of each bi-annual large range review (Spring/Autumn) and the smaller new range launch for summer and Christmas range changes.

e)Work within the Training Academy to deliver hospitality NVQ programme based on Soho Brand Standards and Circadian Trusts own mission and vison.

Range Reviews

a)Twice yearly review café food range for TLC café including researching new products, costing and creating specification sheets and allergen information.

b)Twice yearly range review of Thornbury Leisure Centre event catering menus to run alongside the on site café, bearing in mind practicality of stock holding and product usage alongside the café. Including researching new products, costs and creating specification sheets and allergen information.

c)Providing Converage computer support team with required till update information for all sites including, costs, VAT status, product detail, ticket printer route, take out/eat in prices and discount status for all café products for Soho and Thornbury Leisure Centre one month before the launch of bi-annual range review.

KPI/Stock Control

a)To set up and deliver an effective stock control system that works alongside F&B KPI to produce a weekly stock valuation and full set of KPI including staffing percentage, food/bar/disposable cost.

b)Take action on failing KPI targets to ensure profitability.

Auditing

a)To audit F&B outlets monthly following both Soho brand audit and Circadian Trusts own set standards ensuring that service provided is of a consistently high standard.

b)Produce audit feedback to Store and Centre Managers with actions if required.

Corporate Drive on Event Hire

a)With a corporate branded approach to events across sites, working alongside Office Managers, setting targeted sales for this area this will be targeted to improve event/room hire income across all sites by 10%.

And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.Duties may change over time and you will be expected to co-operate where such changes are reasonable.

  1. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (SELECTION CRITERIA)

Essential Criteria

a)Qualified with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or have an equivalent level of relevant experience.

b)Proven experience of management and developing people.

c)Awareness of current Health and Safety legislation.

d)Excellent customer service skills.

e)Ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload, always with an attention to detail.

f)Knowledge of business IT applications (e.g. Word/Excel).

g)Good written communication skills.

h) Food safety minimum level 2.

Desirable Criteria

a)Food Safety level 3.

b)Knowledge and experience of electronic bookings/hospitality systems.

c)Two years management experience within a high volume food/coffee business

f)PHYSICAL EFFORT AND/OR STRAIN

a)Will be required to aid with the setting up of catering equipment which may involve some manual handling.

g)SPECIAL NOTES OR CONDITIONS

a)The post holder will be required to work on a shift basis, working week days, evenings and weekends.

b)The post holder will be required to wear a uniform at all times whilst on duty.

c)The post holder may be required to provide cover for colleagues from time to time.

d)The post holder will be required to undergo regular training.

e)The post holder may be required to work at any of the sites and travel between them as necessary.
