Getting a “Father’s Group” started

  • Alonzo Henry of SWAN runs a men’s group. Kristin Pascarella will ask Jamie Collins if she knows of any way they could help.
  • Diana Carter will be talking to folks @ West Ave Baptist Church to see if they would be interested.

Title 1 programs:

-ELA parent training

Kristin Pascarella is interested in starting an after-school drama club & would love parent help

Brooklyn Castle chess film

-Kate Kressmann-Kehoe has contacted the filmmakers – they are interested in having the film screened.

-Movie and snacks only for a family movie night – game night would take too long

-Could partner with Little and show it there, with chess players – Kate to follow-up and find out if we could do a screening there. Attendance probably will be about the same either way.

International week/Day of Caring

-Day of Caring is May 23/24, spread over two days assigned by teacher. Fix wall. Plant annuals and perennials. There is green money available for this.

-Kristin Pascarella will be inviting parents or community members come speak on international issues/culture.

Robocall text can be put on the website if Jeff Green gets the text.

Julie/PTSA can do robocalls for PTSA meetings. Recommendation is to do calls twice eg. Fri and Mon before a meeting.

Starting in April, every Friday will be a gear day – Wilson or College tops are both good. (college hoodies are OK).

Field day, for kids only, June 15th. Parent volunteers needed.
