•Revised timetable : tutor support in developing brief
Your tutors will be present for the selected research presentations on Tuesday 21 May 06 and in the afternoon will be working with you to prepare the basis for a developed brief using the research and precedents you have documented.
Russell and Karen will not be present due to major commitments elsewhere, so students from those groups will work beside other tutorial groups on that day, and Karen and Russell will make arrangements to meet with you to make up the time.
•Interim submission now due Tuesday 11 April: start 9 am finish 6 pm in studio
Following the presentations on Monday and Tuesday and after discussion with the tutors following our first studio session with you, I have revised the submission strategy for the first part of this project.
•Interim will be a working presentation ‘standing-up’ a first scheme for this project.
(We will give you details of scale etc in the next week, however we will be focusing on the ideas behind the scheme and how these are achieved not presentation quality. As long as work is clearly drawn to scale, plus a working model, developed brief, and concept, freehand drawing level will be acceptable.). You will then have two weeks to take a mid-semester break and then time to implement feedback from your Interim. There will be no formal class on Monday 24 May before Anzac day.
• On Monday 1 May 06 bring your scheme further developed after Interim (probably 1:100 drawings to be confirmed)
With your consultants, begin to design and develop the materiality, structure and environmental aspects of your scheme. Your structures, construction and environment consultancies will be scheduled at 15 minutes per student (the schedules will be posted before the Easter / mid-semester break).
• On Tuesday 2 May bring in your site strategies including Red Square, your drawings and a working model, and other relevant design material to develop your scheme.
