About the HeliMax System

The HeliMax simulation system is based on the Bell 206 JetRanger and sports a full avionics suite including a fully functional G530 WAAS GPS with a second NAV/COM radio, ADF and transponder. The main instrument panel, overhead and center consoles feature full fidelity for normal and emergency operations. The external visual system consists of (6) 4K 70-inch HD LED monitors which showcase a Quantum3D® image generator. It also includes an Instructor’s Operating Station (IOS) which allows for a multitude of weather scenarios and equipment failures. Its modular design provides the ability to change the instrument panel to a Bell 407 configuration with glass panel displays. The simulator is positioned on a 3-DOF D-Box® motion platform which provides for additional realism and a refined level of motion cueing. The simulator is pending FAA AATD approval and is expected to qualify as aLevel 7 FTD in mid-2017.
