Antislip Application Instructions
Prior to the application of the Antislip system it is always advisable to undertake
a small trial area to determine the increase in slip resistance and the effects that
the system will have on the visual appearance of the floor area in question.
STEP 1. SURFACE PREPARATION
1. Thoroughly vacuum or sweep the floor to remove all loose surface
contamination dust and dirt.
2. For floors that are heavily contaminated with grease pre clean the floor with
Antislip Step 4 Cleaner/Maintainer/Degreaser and hot water
(See Technical Data Sheet for Antislip Step 4)
3. Mix Antislip Step 1/3 with hot water in a clean plastic container or bucket.
The dilution rate should be 4:1. (4 parts hot water to 1 part Antislip Step 1/3)
1 litre of Antislip Step 1/3 mixed with water at the dilution rate above will
clean a minimum of 25 M2 - 30 M2 if applied with the correct machine.
(See Technical Data Sheet for Antislip Step 1/3)
4. The mixed Antislip Step 1/3 should be scrubbed into the substrate with a
scrubber dryer for large areas or a rotary floor scrubber for the smaller areas.
Take notice at this stage how slippery the floor substrate is.
For large floor areas Antislip Step 1/3 and Antislip Step 4 can be applied with a
rotary scrubber dryer machine as seen above.

STEP 1. SURFACE PREPARATION CONTINUED
For small to medium sized floor areas or more difficult access areas a hand held rotary
floor- scrubbing machine with incorporated distribution tank can be used.
For small or confined floor areas the Antislip Step 1/3 can be applied manually by deck
brush.

STEP 1. SURFACE PREPARATION CONTINUED
5. The entire floor area should now be thoroughly swilled with water and all
Antislip Step 1/3 together with all standing water removed from the surface
either by squeegee to the nearest drain or scrubber dryer or wet vacuum. The
surface should then be allowed to fully dry.
A portable wet vacuum operated independently from the rotary floor scrubber gives a
distinct advantage in small confined work areas when removing standing water
Surface Preparation Of Terrazzo or Power Floated Concrete
For certain types of pre- sealed or very dense Terrazzo or concrete it may be
necessary prior to the cleaning of the floor to first pre-wash the surface with a suitable
stripper or light acidic wash. This will remove any surface laitance or surface seal and
open up the pores of the substrate to allow the Antislip system to penetrate.
Steps 1 to 5 above should then be followed.
A small test area should be treated with the full Antislip system to determine if
the pre wash treatment and stripping of the substrate will be necessary.

STEP 2. APPLICATION OF THE ANTISLIP SYSTEM
6. Neat Antislip Step 2 should now be poured into a clean plastic low- pressure
pump spray. For smaller applications the product can be put into a large clean
plastic container/ bucket (See Technical Data Sheet for Antislip Step 2)
Typical hand held low pressure spray for applying the Antislip Step 2 material
PLEASE NOTE: The spray equipment should only have plastic fittings. Antislip Step
2 will attack and corrode metal fittings.
7. The Antislip Step 2 should be sprayed on to the floor at an even film
thickness with care taken not to flood the surface or over spray and allow the
Antislip Step 2 to pond. The Antislip Step 2 should be applied at an ideal
minimum coverage rate of 10M2 – 12 M2 per litre.
CONTACT WITH METAL AND GLASS
Care should be taken when spraying the Antislip Step 2 not to contaminate
metal of any kind such as aluminium door striker plates stainless steel
kitchen equipment or chromium handrails. In addition contact with glass
should also be avoided. If there is any risk all surfaces should be adequately
masked off or covered.

STEP 2. APPLICATION OF THE ANTISLIP SYSTEM
8. Once the Antislip Step 2 has been spray applied the surface must be kept wet
with Antislip Step 2 for the times as listed below. A Leifheitmop cotton application
pad should be used to work the product into the substrate and move the
solution around to ensure the surface does not dry out. (also watch out for small spills/drops on the surface that you do not treat right away, this will dry in and make a white spot, treat all over and the spots will be gone).
Antislip Step 2 must never be allowed to dry out on the surface.
Quarry Tiles Antislip Step 2 Reaction Time 3 – 5 minutes
Ceramic Tiles Antislip Step 2 Reaction Time 2 - 5 minutes
Terrazzo Antislip Step 2 Reaction Time 7-10 minutes
Concrete Antislip Step 2 Reaction Time 8-12 minutes
Please note that the above times are approximations and can varydepending on the surface density of the surface. Always test first.
The Antislip Step 2 should be lightly worked into the surface using a Leifheitmop
application pad as shown above. Any dry patches or foot- marks should be reworked
with the pad to maintain a wet surface.
To determine if the Antislip Step 2 has “taken” stand flat-footed on the
treated area and attempt to slide one foot across the surface. You should feel
greater slip resistance. After you have tested the floor make sure that you retreat
the area walked on with Step 2. If the area does not “take” thoroughlywithin the times above let the product remain on the floor longer and re-test
Antislip Application Instructions
STEP 3. NEUTRALISATION AND COMPLETION OF THE APPLICATION
9.Once the Antislip Step 2 has “taken” Antislip Step 1/3 should be applied at
the dilution rate of 4:1. (4 parts water to 1 part Antislip Step 1/3) directly on
top of the WET Antislip Step 2. The Antislip Step 1/3 should be left on the
surface for a minimum of 4 to 5 minutes to neutralise the reaction and also to
lock in the Antislip Step 2. Thoroughly scrub the substrate to totally remove
all traces of Antislip Step 2.
Apply the Antislip Step 1/3 directly on top of the wet Antislip Step 2 and
thoroughly scrub into the surface.
10. Finally thoroughly swill the surface with water and squeegee or wet-vacuum
the entire area to remove all standing water and allow to dry.
The AntiSLIP system once applied has no cure time therefore the treated area can be
walked on immediately following application.
