FACILITY: A75 x 176 foot pool, with a movable bulkhead creating two eight lane 25yard racing courses with Competitor non-turbulent lane markers, is housed in this facility. Electronic timing by Colorado Timing and 2x (9’x16’)video display board. There are 300 bleacher seats, and ample deck space for swimmers.There are500 permanent seats in a raised balcony for spectators.The competition course hasbeen certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming.There will be a $3.00 entrance fee for spectators. Meet programs will sell for $10.00.

Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.

FACILITY NOTES: LancasterAquaticCenter is an excellent ChampionshipAquaticCenter. The complex is well maintained and the following rules will be strictly enforced:

  1. NOTE TO COACHES AND PARENTS: The balcony seating area is restricted to spectators, and the pool deck is restricted to swimmers, officials and other meet workers. BALCONY AREA MUST BE CLEARD BETWEEN SESSIONS.
  2. All trash must be deposited in appropriate containers.
  3. Children (swimmers and spectators) may not go into unauthorized areas, especially the SeatonCenter attached to LAC.
  4. UK and USA Swimming prohibits SMOKING and ALCOHOL.
  5. Any signs or banners must be hung by masking tape or string only.
  6. Radios, noisemakers, or anything that will cause distraction to swimmers, Coaches, or Officials will not be allowed. Flash photography is prohibited during the start of heats.
  7. GLASS CONTAINERS AS WELL AS ALL FOODS ARE BANNED FROM THE COMPLEX; NO FOOD IS ALLOWED ON DECK!
  8. Only competitors, coaches, and officials will be allowed on deck.
  9. Please limit use of walkie-talkie or cell phone operation INSIDE Lancaster and during competition; the transmission interferes with our communication headsets.
  10. Folding Chairs on deck must be placed out of traffic paths and may be limited/team.
  11. There is no reserved seating in the aquatic center balcony; clothing and other materials may not be used to “save” seats.
  12. NO LOITERING in the Atrium stairwell / entrance leading downstairs to the pool deck.

FORMAT: This is a CLOSEDtimed finals competition with mixed age classifications for 8-under, 9-10, 11-12,13-14 andOpen swimmers. FINA starting procedures will be used. The FINA system, approved by USA Swimming, uses aseries of whistles followed by a one-whistle announcement for swimmers. The No Recall Start Rule will also beenforced during this meet. The use of “fly-over starts” will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee.

ALL ENTRY TIMES MUST BE IN SHORT COURSE YARDS. ALL EVENTS WILL BE PRE-SEEDED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 400 YARD AND LONGER EVENTS. 9 & OLDER SWIMMERS WILL REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED BLOCKS. 8-UNDERS WILL REPORTTO THE CLERK OF COURSE. HEAT AND LANE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE POSTED BEHIND THEBLOCKS AND DISTRIBUTED TO COACHES.

ELIGIBILITY: Swimmers must be USA registered athletes. Age of swimmer on November 9, 2012will determine theirage group for this meet. The 2011 Official USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

*We will announce (via email & website) a final and accurate time for the start of the afternoon sessions.We will begin afternoon warm up sessions upon the conclusion of the morning sessions.

Note: Warm-up lanes will be assigned. Coaches should be prepared to share lane space with other teams.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Allevents 400 yards and longer will require a positive check-in. A positive check-inmust be made by 4:30 P.M. for Friday night’s events and by 8:00A.M. for Saturday morning’s event. Swimmers not checked-in by the designated deadlines will not be seeded. The check-in table will be open by the start of each warm-upsession. Swimmers not appearing for their races after checking in will forfeit their next event.

AWARDS: Custom ribbons for first through eighth place in all events. All awards are to be picked up atthe meet. No awards will be mailed.

ENTRY LIMITS: Swimmers may enter four (4) events per day. The number of non-WA swimmers accepted into the meet will be limited at the discretion of WA, Inc and in compliance with UK facility restraints and USA/KY Swimming timeline restrictions. Timeliness & completeness of entry submission as well as the willingness to supply officials will be taken into consideration. All events 400 and longer may be limited to the fastest 3 heats. Wildcat Aquatics reserves the right to add two heats(exhibition) of their own swimmers to 400and longer events.

$2.50 KYLSC surcharge per swimmer

Deck entries may be taken only atthe discretion of the administrative referee.

Cost for deck entries will be $8.00 per individual event.

ENTRY FORMAT: Entries must be submitted electronically (Hy-Tek or SDIF). Handwritten, telephone or fax entries will not be accepted. If the USSID for any swimmer is omitted that swimmer’s entries will not be accepted. All swimmers’ registration will be checked against an electronic database of registered athletes.

Note: If your team does not use Hy-Tek’s Team Manager or equivalent, then WinTM II Lite, downloadable free of charge from Hy-Tek’s web site, should be used to prepare your entries.

ENTRY DEADLINE: This is an Invitational meet. Teams must be invited for entries to be submitted. Entries must be submittedvia email to the entry chair, Ben Davis, between Thursday, October 25, 2012 andMonday, October 29, 2012@ 12:00 pm EST. A hardcopy of the electronic entries, signed waiver/entry form and check for all fees must be mailed by Thursday, November 01, 2012.

PSYCH SHEET: A psych sheet will be sent out via email to each team’s entry contact by 12:00 pm EST on Friday, November 02, 2012 The psych sheet will also be posted on the WA web site. Please check the accuracy of your entries.

CORRECTING ENTRIES:Please use the psych sheet. Mistakes must be corrected inadvance. The Coach or selected representative must e-mail corrections to the Entry ChairbySunday, November 04, 2012 @ 5:00 pm EST.

RESULTS:Upon the meet’s conclusion results will be distributed via email to each team’s entry contact and submitted to KY Swimming for retrieval from the KYLSC website.

PARKING: Please do not stand or park your car along UK Dorm Complex Drive since traffic congestion will likely be significant. Parking is not available on UK Dorm Complex Drive or University Driveand UK permits are required. The UK police will issue tickets. There are a few parking meters, which must be coin fed. After 3:30 PM Friday, all Saturday and Sunday the E parking structure (parking structure #PS1) on University Drive across from the Pierattintramural football fields will be open and should have ample parking. Paid parking in 3 story garage is available at PS #2. A map is posted on the web site.*Please review WA’s web-site ( for UK parking information and maps.

OFFICIALS: Wildcat Aquatics encourages the assistance of any visiting parents who would like toserve as officials. Please emailClaudia Kendall ()if you are interested in officiating. Include which dates and sessionsyou will be available to work.

TIMERS: Each team will be required to supply timers based on the number of their entries. We will notify you bye-mail regarding your team’s requirement prior to the meet. Swimmers must provide their owntimers for the 1000 FR.

COACHES REGISTRATION: All coaches must be currently registered with United States Swimming. Each team should submit a list of all coaches that will be in attendance. Coaching credentials must be worn at all times.

COACHES MEETING: There will be a coaches’ meeting at 4:50 PM on Friday.

THE POOL DECK:Only participating swimmers, coaches, officials and meet personnel will be permitted on the pool deck. In emergency situations parents of swimmers on the pool deck can ask for assistance from meet personnel to help contact a swimmer. Those failing to comply with this policy will be asked to leave.

SEVERE WEATHER NOTICE:Please note that the University of Kentucky reserves the right to clear the pool deck at any time during competition if the staff feels swim meet patrons are at risk due to weather. If the deck is cleared, athletes may congregate in the SeatonCenter hallways and in the locker rooms (showers are not to be used if the deck is cleared for weather).
