District 7620 Post-Secondary Scholarships

Instructions for Student Applicants & Application Form

We appreciate your interest in applying for one of two competitive $5,000 scholarships provided by Rotary District 7620. Eligible applicants must reside in our district and be enrolling in an accredited US college, university or technical school for academic year 2018-2019. Your local Rotary Club will review all applicants and forward their finalist to the District Post-Secondary Scholarship Review Committee. The Committee will interview selected finalists at the District level. Scholarship funds will be sent to the academic institution of winning scholars to cover tuition, room, board and books.

Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, reside in District 7620 and not be related to a Rotarian.

Instructions for Applicants:

A completed application for a Rotary District Post-Secondary Scholarship will include the following items:

A completed Application for 2018 Rotary District 7620 Post-Secondary Scholarship (page 2 of this document)
An essay explaining your educational objectives and subsequent occupational goals (300-500 words on a separate document)
A summary/resume of your extracurricular and community activities, work experience, awards and honors received
An official copy of your high school transcript including any college courses you took while in high school
A copy of any test scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL) used to qualify for admission at a post-secondary institution

Please submit your completed application packet to your local Rotary Club Scholarship Contact. A listing of all District Rotary Clubs can be found at Click on “Where Clubs Meet” under “Club Info”. Individual Rotary Clubs must submit their finalist by April 6, 2018. The District Post-Secondary Scholarship Committee will review applications of all finalists and conduct interviews on Saturday April 28, 2018. Recipients will be notified of their selection by May 4, 2018. Scholarship funds will be sent to recipients’ institution in the Fall of 2018.
