Expectations and Contract

The following list expresses what is expected and required of Honors Ambassadors. If these expectations are not met or any part of this contract is violated, a student may be removed from the Honors Ambassadors, at the discretion of the Honors Program. A copy of this signed contract will be filed in the student’s Honors file.

1. Honors Ambassadors must maintain a 3.33 minimum GPA, which is the minimum requirement to stay in the Honors Program. If a student is placed on probation for their GPA by the Honors Program, the student will also not be allowed to participate in Honors Ambassadors for one semester, with the intention that they use this spare time to improve their grades. If their grades do not improve after one semester, the student will be removed from the Honors Ambassadors.

2. Honors Ambassadors must remain active in the Honors Program, taking at least one three-credit Honors course every third semester (not counting semesters abroad or full-time internships). If the student becomes inactive in Honors, the student will be removed from the Honors Program, in which case, the student will also be removed from the Honors Ambassadors.

3. Honors Ambassadors must remain up-to-date on policies and practices within the Honors Program. It is a good idea to read through the entire Honors website once per semester. You are allowed to charge the time you spend learning about Honors on this per-semester basis. If an Ambassador gives guests of the University incorrect information, that student may be instructed to attend remedial education about the Honors Program with the Honors Ambassador Coordinator.

4. Honors Ambassadors must respond to emails from the Honors Ambassadors Coordinator promptly, and on a regular basis. If an Ambassador consistently ignores emails and does not respond, the student may be removed from Honors Ambassadors.

5. Honors Ambassadors must maintain decorum and good behavior. If the Honors Program becomes aware of a student’s violation of University policy, academic or otherwise, this student will be removed from the Honors Ambassadors immediately. Honors Ambassadors may also be removed of the following reasons: Failure to responsibly and respectfully represent the Honors Program at all functions; behavior that demonstrate disrespect for the Honors Program, its faculty, staff, or students; failure to treat guests of the University with respect. Any instance of removal from the Honors Ambassadors will be kept in the student’s file in the Honors Office.

6. Honors Ambassadors are also expected to maintain responsibility for keeping track of, and posting, their hours that they will charge as an Honors Ambassador. They are expected to complete the required paperwork for compensation and to educate themselves in the Web Time Entry system.

I, the undersigned, have read and understand this contract. I understand that, by signing this contract, I am bound to adhere to its contents, or will face the consequences outlined for the various actions above. If, at any time, I feel unable to keep these commitments, I will contact the Honors Ambassador Coordinator and resign from my position.
