Father/Youth Cast and Blast Weekend Workshop
at Jim Olterman/Lone Cone State Wildlife Area
June 16-18, 2017

- Learn the basics of flyfishing, shotgun shooting, archery, and wildlife watching all in a supportive atmosphere. No experience required! Beginners/Novices welcome and encouraged.
- Accommodations: bring your own tent/gear and camp on the cabin lawn, or bring a sleeping bag and comfy pad for the wooden plank bunks or cabin floor. If you have a cot, you can bring it!
- All food provided – if you have very strict dietary restrictions, consider bringing supplemental food.
- Participants must have a current fishing license and a habitat stamp. Participants under 16yoa do not need a fishing license. (Do to the physical nature of the activities – No youths under 10 years of age)
- CPW will provide all sporting gear (shotguns/ammo, bows/arrows, flyrods/tackle), and expert instructors. If you have a 20 gauge shotgun you may bring it. Same goes for flyfishing gear.
- Application deadline May 26th, acceptance notification by June 1st
- Registration limited to 15 participants
- Deposit of $40 required, check made out to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (returned the day of the event – if you are accepted and can’t make it and don’t cancel at least 3 days prior to the workshop your deposit will not be refunded). Applications accepted only after April 1, 2017.
