Core faculty in the Environmental Studies department: directing, teaching and managing the Environmental Education Masters degree program. Designed and delivered the Foundation courses and several Methods courses including Curriculum Development: Formal and Non-formal, Conceptual Development, Interpretation and Exhibit Design. Primary adviser to 50 students. Oversight: Middle School and High School Science Teacher Certification.
Academic interests include educating for sustainability, the formation of ecological identity, human and conceptual development, learning theory and environmental literacy, educational reform, interpretation and exhibit development. Courses include; Foundations of Environmental Education, Blueprint for a Green School, Developmental Theory, Curriculum Design for Non-formal and Formal Education, Interpretation, Exhibit Development and Design.

With support from the National Science Foundation and National Public Radio, this project trains high school students to program radio shows about the environmental character and issues of their regions, communities and neighborhoods. In nine schools across the country, seven urban schools and two rural schools, I direct the development of this interdisciplinary approach to curriculum and organize the science research that becomes primary source material for radio features. Liz graduated from the Antioch NE Environmental Education program with a Masters of Science while I was director. She knows me as an instructor and mentor and graduate adviser. She was faculty at the Teton Science School and brought me out to teach Place-based Education course in 2012.
