She’s become widely known for her warm, comforting songwriting and pristine, personal vocals. Her dedicated fan base has come to expect not just entertainment for its sake, but a kind of homecoming in song, a private calm, an old friend offering respite and reassurance.

Her new album Who I Am was recorded live to tape at Hollywood’s Sound Factory, rather than being built piecemeal on a computer, as many albums are made these days. Alice and the band found that this lent an intimacy and immediacy to the record that you just can’t fake: “There’s an authenticity to the performances that people have really responded to,” she says. “Who I Am” recalls the golden age of singer-songwriter pop -- the album cover was even shot by legendary rock photographer Henry Diltz.

“She has an amazing gift for writing songs that have both depth and a pop hook that rivals those of 60-era songwriters such as Carol King and Burt Bacharach” - Dirty Linen Magazine, June/July 2007
