Job Title: IT Manager

Responsible to: Managing Partner

Hours: Full Time

Salary:Circa 55k

As an integral part of the Management Team, this role will be responsible for developing the IT strategy and related transformation plans in line with the Firm’s Business Plan. Daily management and training and development of the IT team will also form a large part of the role. Previous experience in strategy and leadership is therefore essential. However, due to the size of the IT department this will be very much a “hands on role” so a mixture of operational and strategic knowledge and experience is a must.

The key responsibilities the successful IT Manager will undertake include:

  • Providing strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT processes and frameworks that fulfil the needs of the business, including IT Governance, IT Security and risk management
  • Oversee all technology operations , including telephones, printers, scanners etc and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of the Business Plan
  • Analyse the business requirements of all departments (and locations) to determine their technology needs
  • Identify and purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software in line with business need
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and identify cost effective solutions
  • Co-ordinate and line manage IT staff to ensure adequate cover in line with business need. Provide guidance, development and training where required.
  • Manage the IT budget day to day and report on expenditure
  • Develop excellent relationships with suppliers and third party suppliers to maximise efficiency and value for money
  • Establish excellent internal relationships with all business areas to ensure understanding of culture and strategic direction

To be considered for the position of IT Manager, you must have:

  • Experience in working in an IT leadership role in professional services
  • Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, organisation design and development
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to communicate an IT vision that inspires and motivates IT staff and aligns to the business strategy
  • Ability to instil confidence in key stakeholders and demonstrate the business value of IT
  • Strong business acumen with strategic planning and execution skills
  • Expertise in budget planning ,report writing and financial management
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how these may benefit the business
  • Understanding of industry standard governance such as Cyber Essentials, GDPR and MiiFD II

Hours

Individual working hours will be staggered within the IT team across the hours of 8.00am-6.00pm. Core Business hours are 9am – 5.30pm. The role holder will be expected to be flexible and to arrive earlier and stay later when the job or business requires. There may be an opportunity to work alternative hours upon request, dependant upon this meeting with the business needs.
