Goal 1.Establish the Collaborative Care Center (referred to hereafter as “The Center”) as a sustainable Medical-Behavioral Health Home model to improve the delivery of mental health care on a population level.
Objective 1-1. Expand the capacity of the Collaborative Care Center to integrate services in screening, assessment and treatment of child and adolescent mental health problems in the pediatric primary care setting.
- This involves ongoing collaboration with the existing 89+ primary care providers from 23 separate practices in North Florida. This includes site visits to each of the 23+ participating pediatric primary care practices where the child psychiatrist conducts clinical rounds with pediatric providers, provides additional training, and supports providers and pediatric office staff with pediatric mental health screening and treatment. As new providers are trained and integrated into the Collaborative Care Model, we will provide community outreach services (and site visits) to new providers and practices as well.

Objective 1-2. Expand the capacity of primary care providers to identify and manage children and adolescents with mental health problems.
- Develop and pilot a new multidisciplinary workshop on the identification, assessment and management of child and adolescent anxiety in partnership with experts in the treatment of anxiety.

Objective 1-3. Develop an external advisory board consisting of experts in the fields of integration of mental health in the community to provide oversight and guidance to all aspects of the Center.

Goal 2. Increase the number of engaged clinicians and children and youth served in order to expand clinical services for youth with mental health problems.
Objective 2-1.Build the skills of community Child and Adolescent psychiatrists inIntegration of Mental Health Care in various community settings providing expert consultation, leadership, and mentorship.

Objective 2-2.Build the skills ofDr. Sherry Shenoda, pediatrician and leader of the Wellness Center, to Integrate Mental Health Care in Pediatrics. Dr. Fallucco will provide consultation, leadership, and mentorship to Dr. Sherry Shenoda

Objective 2-3. Expand the capacity of psychiatry resident/trainees to provide clinical consultation through the Collaborative Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultation Clinic. Train psychiatry residents to receive consults from primary care physicians through the collaborative care model at a minimum of 1 half-day monthly per psychiatrist.

Objective 2-4. Train pediatric residents to develop skills in providing mental health for children and adolescents. This will effectively expand the capacity of the pediatric workforce of the future to deliver mental health to youth across the country.
