Halloween Disco

There will be a disco for our little ghosts and ghouls on Thursday,

31st October from 5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Feel free to dress up as your favourite Halloween character and join in the fun. Soft drinks and a tuck shop will also be available on the night. This year we are supporting Knowsley Food Bank and ask for a donation of food items as entrance fee to the disco.

All Saints Mass

We start the month off with a visit to Church to celebrate All Saints Day on Friday, 1st November. We shall be celebrating at 11.00 a.m. in church and all are welcome to attend this special Mass.

Bonfire Night

We want everyone to have fun and enjoy the fireworks on Bonfire Night. We will be stressing the dangers of fireworks in school and ask your help in getting over the important safety messages. Let’s hope that everyone enjoys the celebrations and returns to school safe and sound!

Rejoice Assembly

The children in Year 4 will be leading us in our Rejoice Assembly on the topic of “Belonging” on Wednesday 6th November at 9.15 a.m.

Shoe Box Appeal

Once again we are supporting needy children from around the world with our Shoe Box Appeal. Information about the appeal has been sent home and we are expecting the boxes to be collected on Wednesday,

13th November. If you can manage to fill a shoe box with toys and gifts then please return it with £3 by Friday, 8th November.

Fair Trade Assembly

Children will hear about the work of the Fair Trade Association at a special assembly on Wednesday, 20th November.

Foundation Stay and Play Day

On Friday, 22ndNovember Foundation Stage will be holding a “Stay and Play” day, more details will follow.

Anti Bullying Month

We will be working with the children on issues around Bullying particularly using phones and social networking sites throughout the month of November. On Thursday, 28th November the school will watch a professional drama production of a play called “Sticks and Phones” which addresses important issues of bullying both for the “bully” and the “victim”.

Defibrillator Training

Staff from St. Luke’s will attend training on the use of defibrillators in schools. This will enable us to deal quickly and efficiently with heart related problems where the immediate access to a defibrillator can potentially save the life of a child or adult. The cost of the training and the supply of equipment is thanks to the Oliver King Trust.

St. Andrew’s Day

As St. Andrew’s Day falls on Saturday this year, we will have an assembly for the children on Monday, 2nd December.

Christmas Fayre

On Friday, 29thNovember we will be holding an extra playtime or disco for children. All children are asked to bring an item suitable for the Adults or Children’s Tombola at the Christmas Fayre which will be on Thursday, 5th December if you are planning a Christmas clear out please send in suitable items for our Fayre.

Non Uniform Day

Our next non uniform day will take place on Friday, 29th Novemberwhen the children will have the opportunity to wear their own clothes for a donation of £1 towards school fund. As this is a special concession, if your child is unable to bring in £1 they must come to school in uniform.

Christmas Jars

As we are preparing for the Christmas Fayre we are asking the children to decorate Christmas Jars. The best decorated jar from each class will win a prize.

‘Tis the season to be Jolly

We will be decorating our school for the festive season on Friday,

29th November. Any parent/carer/friend of St. Luke’s will be most welcome at 9.00 a.m. to help us transform St. Luke’s into Santa’s Grotto.
