WW PTA Meeting Recap –Tuesday, June 13, 2017
1. Installation of new officers. Board member April Neuendorff was present.
2. End of year awards were presented. Full list of award recipients is at the end of the minutes.
3. Meeting called to order and minutes approved.
4. Treasurer-
We voted and approved a working budget to continue PTA work over the summer. An official budget for the 2017-18 school year will be voted on in September.
We voted and approved a new line for this year’s budget - $100 for the Whitman table at BravesFest. We also voted and approved a new line for next year’s budget - $600 for the 5th grade gift. Next year’s 5th grade class gift will be a large TV for the library so students can do presentations for a large group.

6. President's Report-
Asked for vote of confidence to continue PTA work over the summer. Motion passed. Thank you to Gouri for all of her hard work in her two years as PTA President.
7. Mr. Snyder's Report-
Thank you to Gouri as outgoing PTA President. And he looks forward to working with Jackie Cohen and Susan Suriel next year.
Looking at next year’s numbers. The incoming kindergarten is currently at 49 students, so we are still at two classes as of right now. The incoming 2nd grade will be three sections with 52 students. All other grades will be two classes. There will be changes in teachers to accommodate the new class(es) but we do not know who or how yet.
8. Committee Reports-
Field Day-
Field Day will hopefully be on Friday, June 16th with a rain date of Monday, the 19th. If it rains on Monday, we will have Field Day indoors.
School Directory-
Fill out the directory flier if you have any changes for next year. Fill out paper form or online, or email Dana Kralstein at . Parents of two children at Whitman do not need to fill out two forms, but should send an email to Dana with the names of both children.
Lunch-
We are still looking for Friday lunch captains for next year. Contact Lauren Weissman if you are interested.
School Store-
Order school supplies for next year by Friday, June 16th.
Someone Special Craft-
Thursday, June 15th we will have our Special Someone Craft outside. We’ll be painting rocks with paint pens.
9. Old Business-
Arts & Ed-
The BMX event was very cool. The kids seemed to enjoy it.
Earth Day-
This was a great event. The kids planted flowers in front of the school.
Family Fun Night-
This was a great success. The kids were well-behaved.
Staff Rec-
Thank you to our volunteers. This was a really nice event.
Plant Sale-
The Plant Sale was a success. And all the leftover plants were used in our Earth Day event.
5th Grade Picnic-
We had a beautiful day for the 5th grade picnic at the park.
