Job Title: Women’s Turnaround Project Volunteer Co-ordinator (Female)*

Purpose of Job: 1. To recruit, train and support a small team of volunteers to aid the project

2.To be part of the Women’s Turnaround ProjectOperational Group

3. To assist the Women’s Turnaround Project Co-ordinator with fund-raising

Main Duties:

  • To recruit a small team of volunteer workers
  • To develop a recruitment strategy
  • To develop a training package for volunteers
  • To support and supervise the volunteer team
  • To assist the Co-ordinator in the development of the project.
  • To give day to day advice and support to volunteer workers
  • To assist in fund raising
  • To liaise with other professionals, community groups public, third and private sector partners when appropriate to support women who are engaging with the project.
  • To work with partners engaged with Women’s Turnaround Project to ensure effective networks and seamless joined-up services
  • To operate as a member of the Women’s Turnaround Projectoperational group.
  • To work with management and colleagues developing and supporting new initiatives and developments.
  • To work within Safer Wales’ organisation’s operational policies and overall philosophy
  • To support the running and the functions within the Women’s Centre, ensuring that the ethos of providing of a non-judgemental and safe environment for women is maintained.
  • To compile data and complete all documentation that pertains to the range of duties associated with this role.
  • To effectively communicate the benefits and values of the Women’s Turnaround Project to other agencies and individuals.
  • To work fully within all the expectations of the Women’s Turnaround Project with specific regard for equality and diversity
  • To submit verbal or written reports when requested by management
  • To be aware of the laws and procedures concerning child protection issues
  • To provide support in the absence of other team members.
  • To be able to work flexibly, including some unsocial hours.

SUMMARY OF TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

SAFER WALES WOMEN’S TURNAROUND PROJECT VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

Name of Employer:SaferWales Ltd

Address of Employer:4th Floor, 113 – 116 Bute St, Butetown, Cardiff, CF10 5EQ.

Responsible through:Senior Management Team to the Safer Wales Board of Trustees.

Accountability:The Women’s Turnaround Project Volunteer Co-ordinator will be an employee of Safer Wales Ltd and subject to its terms and conditions of service.

Salary:£22,017- £23,400 per annum pro rata for up to 18 hours a week

Length of Contract:12 month contract initially with the possibility to extend, subject to funding availability.

Probationary Period:This post is subject to a six month probationary period.

Period of Notice

Given/Required:One month either side (one week either side during the probationary period).

Holidays:22 days per annum pro rata initially plus 11 statutory and public holidays, to be agreed in advance with Safer Wales.

Hours of Work:Up to 18flexible hours per week. Occasionally, evening, bank/statutory holiday and weekend work will be required for which time off in lieu of additional hours can be taken, subject to approval by Safer Wales.

Life Insurance:Employees are insured under a non-contributory life policy for four time’s gross annual salary.

Healthcare:Safer Wales Ltd operates a health care scheme. Staff may pay additional premiums to enhance their benefits, if so desired.

Pension:Safer Wales Ltd operates a Stakeholder pension scheme, which you are invited to join. On completion of probation, you will be invited to join the contributory pension scheme. As employers, Safer Wales Ltd will contribute 10% of gross salary and the employee, 5%.

Expenses:Travel and subsistence are reimbursed at Safer Wales rates.

Reviews:A member of the Senior Management Team will conduct a performance review and appraisal of the Women’s Turnaround Project Volunteer Co-ordinator’s work after the first six months and annually thereafter.
