LEISURE SUPERVISOR
DLR Leisure operates and manages 3 leisure facilities and 2 Golf Club on behalf of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. The 3 centres are:
- dlr Leisure Loughlinstown
- dlr Leisure Monkstown
- dlr Leisure Meadowbrook and
DLR Leisure Stepaside Golf Club
DLR Leisure Marlay Golf Club
We are currently in the process of opening a new dry fitness facility and are looking to grow our team and recruit new staff.
Leisure Supervisors Duties
- To ensure compliance with management policy and financial procedures
- To act as FitnessManager of the centre in the absence of the Fitness Manager, overseeing all activities, operations and staff on site.
- Responsible for management and motivation of staff in an effective and efficient manner.
- Utilise all available resources effectively, ensuring that the programmes are operated correctly and marketed effectively.
- Record and report maintenance requirements. E.g. damaged equipment etc
- Responsible for opening up and locking up of the centre

- To assist the Centre to meet its performance targets/outcomes with a key focus on customer service.
- To act in a manner, this is credible, professional and promotes DLR Leisure in a positive manner having consideration for its policies and culture.
- To deliver high quality customer focused service, this guarantees repeat custom.
- To assist in the building of strong customer base through performance and motivation creating a positive ‘can do’ culture for management to develop.
- To take responsibility for the day-to-day programmes and classes providing a quality product/service in a safe and friendly environment.

- To assist the centre manager in ensuring the programme timetable is completed

Key Responsibilities / Specific Duties
- To prepare staff rosters in conjunction with Fitness Manager
- To foster and actively promote a ‘can do’ culture, which consist of a positive team spirit, delivery of targets and customer focused service delivery.
- To demonstrate proactive positive communication for the benefit of the staff, team and customers.
- To be involved in regular team meetings with staff as well as the centre manager in order to ensure effective communication.
- To demonstrate the utmost regard for customer services in all dealings with internal & external customers, and provide a positive image of DLR Leisure.
- To actively assist the Centre in continuous improvement and development of performance and quality.
- To ensure that the building is presented in an excellent condition and the quality of cleanliness is of the highest standard at all times.
- Prepare lodgements.
- To prepare in conjunction with Fitness Manager the fortnightly payroll.
- To be responsible day-to-day for ensuring the Leisure Centre's compliance with health and safety and that they comply with all the recognised advice, guidance and directives.
- To attend the Centre, when required, on an emergency basis as a nominated "Key holder".
- To attend staff training as and when deemed necessary from your centre manager.
- To cover as a knowledgeable employee all aspects of the business when required e.g. Reception, etc.
- Ensure Accident & Incident reports are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure all customer complaints are logged and discussed with the Centre Manager for action and follow up.
- Assist Centre Manager with the management of part time staff.
In addition the jobholder will be required to
- Comply with the Centres Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Comply with the Code of Conduct and other relevant policy, procedures and legislation.
- Comply with and / or ensure compliance with the Centres Data Protection Policies and the Data protection Act and other relevant legislation.
- Comply with DLR Leisure Safety Policy and other safety procedures and guidelines that are deemed part of this job description.
- Employees must look after their own health, safety and welfare and be mindful of other persons who may be affected by their acts.
- Employees must co-operate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety issues and report all accidents, incidents and problems as soon as practicable to their manager or other senior members of staff available.
Experience
Previous supervisory experience in the leisure industry is required.

A full clean driving licence free from endorsements would be beneficial.
