LOCATION: Richvale Community Centre and Pool, 160 Avenue Road, Richmond Hill, L4C 5L8

FACILITY: Six Lanes, 25 meters Pool, Electronic timing system

COMPETITION: The only meet package which will be considered as valid must be the most current version found on www.swimmeet.ca. The RHAC Winter Invitational is a sanctioned swim meet. All current Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC) rules will apply. Swimmers must be registered with Swim Ontario as competitive swimmers.

§  ALL EVENTS ARE TIME FINALS.

§  FINA ONE START rule in effect.

§  All hears will be slowest to fastest except for the distance events that will be seeded fastest to slowest. This includes 1500m Free, 800m Free.

§  Meet management reserves the right on the following:

§  Limits meet entries in case of over subscription

§  Refuses entry to any swimmer not providing an appropriate SNC registration number

AWARDS: Medals 1stTO 3rd- individual events.

Ribbons 4thTO 6th- individual events.

Relay Events: Ribbons: 1-2-3.
Awards and results will be broken out by gender and:
9& under, 10, 11, 12, 13-14, 15 & over for individual

10& under (Mixed gender), 11-12, 13-14, 15 & over for relay

Random heat prizes for all Sunday sessions.

Participant award for all pre-competitive swimmers (25M events)

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be registered as Competitive swimmers with SNC or any other amateur swimming organization recognized by FINA except those who entered only in pre-competitive events

A valid SNC registration number is required for all Canadian swimmers, and entries without a SNC registration number will be declined entry

Preference will be given to the host club first

This is an invitational meet. Participation of this meet is at the full discretion of the host club

AGE UP DATE: Ages submitted are to be as of the start date of the meet, January 24, 2015.

ENTRY FEES: $ 9.50/individual event, $16 for distance events and $16.00/relay event

OFFICIALS: Officials registered with the Ontario Swimming Officials Association are invited to assist at the

meet. Please email if you are able to help.

RULES/SAFETY: SNC warm up procedures will be in effect. Please read and adhere to the safety procedure

TIME SPLITS: The procedure for obtaining an 'Official Split' now requires that coaches make the request to the session referee or meet management on the “Official Split Request” form prior to the race. The split for the lead-off leg in relays will still be regarded as an official split and therefore no request by coaches is needed for relays. However, in the new 'mixed gender' relays, lead-off times/splits are not considered “official splits' as per international practice.

Meet management requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question.

CONVERSION: Please submit entry times as you have them. Times will be converted by the host, using Hy-tek default conversion factor

ENTRIES: There is no qualifying standard to enter this meet.

All entry files will be handled through www.swimming.ca/meetlist.aspx.

Hy-Tek Entry deadline is midnight, January 9, 2015. Please submit early to ensure your participation. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Changes to entries will not be accepted after January 16, 2015 as meet will be seeded. After that time, fees will be calculated; no refunds will be granted for missed swims

DECK ENTRIES: Swimmers entered on deck must have valid proof of SNC registration (number) as an active, competitive swimmer

Deck entries will be accepted only for the slowest heats that have empty lanes (no new heats will be created)

Deck entries MUST BE made 30 minutes prior to the start of the session and will be recorded as exhibition only and no awards will be given.

DECK ENTRY FEES (to be paid IN CASH at the time that the entry is accepted):

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: $12.00/individual event and $20.00/relay event

SCRATCH: Scratches are to be made at the Clerk of Course desk 30 minutes prior to the start of each session. No scratch penalty shall be imposed for late scratches but deadline will be enforced


RESULTS: The meet program will be run on Hy-Tek Meet Manager. Results will be posted as quickly as possible at the meet and uploaded as soon as possible to www.swimming.ca

LIVE Results (unofficial) will be available on our web site www.rhac.ca as quick as possible

LIMITATION OF

LIABILITY: Teams entering swimmers in the Meet must advise the swimmer’s parents and/or guardians that the Board, coaches and members of the Richmond Hill Aquatic Club are committed to operating a successful and safe meet and that all reasonable precautions will be put in place to ensure the swimmer’s safety. As such members, coaches and the Board assume no responsibility for swimmers who are left at the pool by their parents or guardians, and whose parents fail to pick their children up in time at the end of the session. Parents who plan to drop their child off are responsible for ensuring their safety before, during and after the Meet. To ensure that, they should confirm that their child(ren)/swimmer(s) arrive safely on deck, that they are placed in the care of their coach(s), and that appropriate arrangements are made for them to be picked up once they have finished their events.

FOREIGN

COMPEITORS: All swimmers and coaches must be duly registered and residents of the governing body for which they are competing. All swimmers and coaches must be in good standing with their respective governing swim body.

All swimmers and coaches must have primary residence within the province /state or country for which they claim registration. Proof of residency may be green card, student ID, driver’s license, college residence or other document as deemed acceptable by Swim Ontario and shall be submitted with the Proof of Residence and Registration Status form to Swim Ontario.

COACH’S

REGISTRSTION: Meet management will cross reference the list of coaches in attendance at this competition with the Swim Ontario Compliancy lists. If a coach is not on this list, meet management is obligated to enforce the SNC policy and not permit that coach to attend meet. Meet management will forward Swim Ontario a list of coaches who they have found to be in non-compliance.

ON DECK ACCESS: Only Competitors, Certified Coaches and Officials are permitted on deck. Club Photographers must request and obtain written consent form Meet Manger prior to the Meet. NO OTHER PERSON IS PERMITTED ON DECK unless expressly authorized by the Meet Manager.

SNC POLICY ON SWIMWEAR

Effective September 1, 2009, all swimwear worn in swimming competitions sanctioned under the authority of Swimming Canada must conform to the January 1, 2010 FINA swimwear approval guidelines as listed below.

MATERIAL – The material of swimwear will definitively be constituted only by textile fabric(s). The FINA definition of “textile” currently is: “Material consisting of, natural and/or synthetic, individual and nonconsolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting, and/or braiding.”

SHAPE – MEN: swimwear shall not extend above the navel or below the knee. WOMEN: swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below knee. No zippers or other fastening system is allowed.

USE – Swimmers shall wear only one swimsuit, taping is not permitted.

CONSISTENCY – Swimwear effectively manufactured and used shall correspond to and be fully consistent with FINA approved samples. Any modification before use (including impregnation) is prohibited. Moreover, there shall be no variation/modification for individual swimmers.


SWIMMING CANADA

COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES

Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals.


GENERAL WARM-UP:

·  Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position.

·  Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited.

·  Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage.

·  Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes.

·  Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted.

·  Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up.

EQUIPMENT:

·  Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time.

·  Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use.

·  Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time.

VIOLATIONS:

·  Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.

·  In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed.

SAFETY MARSHALS:

The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall:

·  Be visible by safety vest

·  Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled.

·  Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods.

·  Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee.

PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION:

Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach’s discretion.


The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices:
